Title: My first 700!
Post by: icetink on February 12, 2005, 12:26:37 PM: I bowled my first 700 today during a youth tournament. Started off with a Freak-A-Zoid, but starting frame 5 I was going high so I went to my Power Groove (not Track...unfortunately; all my Track balls are hook and more hook).

I bowled 222-223-258 = 703! Definitely an accomplishment in my books. The Freak-A-Zoid got the ball rolling with a 5 bagger in the first game, but the adjustment to the Groove left a bucket and missed spare; could have shot 230+.

Thanks to my friend who kept my hopes up. We were playing to see who could string the most strikes, and last game he rolled an 8 bagger and left a 7 while I struck out with a 9 bagger!

I wish I could have used my BEASTLY hook monster Track equipment all day, but I usually never encounter enough oil; only place I see good oil is at my sport league, but the manager hasn't put out a sport shot in a couple months now so I needed a 'weaker' ball.

I recently received the FAZ and bought the Power Groove after going to a tourney and having all my balls (ie. Animal, Phenom, Rule, Super Power Pearl) continuously go high on me. Glad I invested in some great bowling balls! Man, the FAZ is an awesome controllable and readable ball, while the Power Groove has awesome length with a great snap!

I would definitely agree with that. I bought the ball because I wanted good length with a weak backend reaction, but the backend snap I get from it on a pretty broken down and light patter is just like what I get from my Rule on a fresh heavy-oil pattern or my Super Power Pearl on a fresh medium pattern; just awesome! That PK17 coverstock is pretty good at saving energy; definitely helps me in playing the same line most of the day!

Post by: fishnic on February 12, 2005, 09:02:20 PM: I should have got a FAZ instead of my xception i love the pin action and hitting power bought i really need to keep my speed up or else it gets very jump and hard control, it was my first snappy ball i think i prefer more readable stuff seems to work better for me.

Post by: kingpin268 on February 13, 2005, 09:18:07 AM: Funny, I just bowled my first 700 yesterday (Sat) for league. Just polished my Ultimate Inferno, and it worked like a charm. 235, 248,236 for a 719. Feels good.

Had my first 700 at age 19 using a Gold Angle----246-265-236. This was before automatic scoring and I still have the old plastic sheet roll with the scores on it----lol.

Post by: bolt298 on February 14, 2005, 06:45:13 AM: Im glad I dont bowl where you guys do LOL.....I bowl in a house that doesnt have much oil but it sounds like we have enough as im averagin 220 + in two leagues and 220+ while subbing and I constantly have to play inside of 5th arrow.....this week alone I shot 723 and 734 and feel like I had to struggle to get that with the condition but now I dont feel so bad.
