my next ball...advice needed!
« on: October 05, 2005, 04:03:18 AM »
i have 2 balls drilled up in my new arsenal and am looking to add more right now i have an ice and a Rule Delta 1 (opposite ends of the spectrum for me) now i wann fill in the gap with maybe 2 more balls at least

you can read my other post here about the delta here
http://www.ballreviews.com/Forum/Replies.asp?TopicID=99633&ForumID=14&CategoryID=2

the ice is layed out with a pin to PAP distance of 4-1/2 with the CG in the center of my palm

My stats
Speed 14 MPH avg
Unsure of my exact revrate now that ive gone sarge easter but im more in the tweener range if that makes sense
axis tilt 17 degrees
PAP 4-1/2 over 3/8 down

what balls with what layouts would you recommend track gurus? im thinkin a polished arsenal reactive or slash and maybe a heat im not sure yet tho...ill take any suggestions!

Thanks in advance!

A Reactive, even polished (ask Chi) is still a monster and may be too close to the Delat to fill your gap properly. I think a proper ball to fill in that gap would be your second ball you mention, the Slash. It is a great benchmark ball and would fit perfectly between them. As for a layout, on any benchmark ball, I would drill it medium so you can see exactly what the lane is giving you. nothing strong or weak, just drill it for what the ball was meant to do. I really like a 4x5 layout, which is essentially label.

Hey Bar,

I think a polished Reactive would be fine below the Delta especially if you can hook the ball.  I'd keep it on the weaker side as well in layout as is your Delta.  Below that I can see a polished Xception (mild to weak drill) or maybe even a polished Solution.
