Dry Heat, if you can find one, is not bad. Nor is the Crash or Hexplosion. However, there is a new mid price ball coming out in March, and it is believed to be the Desert Heat, for the dry. If you are just looking for something to go further than the polished original Rule, the Xception will. Its pearl GOO LS cover helps it skid through the front and it really turns over on the backend. It WILL go longer than a polished Rule.
Any more questions, just ask.
Thanks!

Hey Danny,
I'd suggest the Hexplosion to Crash like Clint mentioned. Both are very good on the drier shots and should give you a good separation from your polished Rule. Hope this helps....

I love it when this topic comes up because I can talk about how great of a ball the Dry Heat is. That thing has saved my butt on many occasions when things dry up. Great ball for the money!!

I really like the Xception but worry that it hook just like my rule. How will the Xception hook compare to my polish rule ???? If i do get the Xception, can I play around with the surface and used it for dry lane???
I just don't have that much money to spend on ball that hook about the same.

Your polished Rule will probably be similar to an Xception (the Xception will probably only go a couple feet longer). I'd think that the Xception would be too aggressive for light oil; you might have trouble keeping it on the right side of the lane!
Great choices for a light oil ball would be:
-Crash (goes long, snaps pretty well - not as much as an Xception though, lol)
-Hexplosion (goes long, will give a smooth arc - won't cover as many boards)
*The Crash and Hexplosion, although they're Track's weaker balls, are still very aggressive and may not be the best light oil balls if you have a decent amount of hand.
-Brunswick Power Groove (goes really long, and snaps pretty well...I love this ball)

danny,
With what Track currently has on the market I would say to go with either a Dry Heat or the Hexplosion. Between those 2 my choice is the Hexplosion because of how much control the ball offers. Out of Box it is too strong for dry, but a good strong coat of Delayed Reaction helps that out VERY well.
