Good going.

Question: The Desert Heat is supposedly a "dry" lane ball.  Can they go bad?  Typically, when people say a ball is dead, they mean that it just doesn't react as much as it did when it was new.  What was a heavy oil ball is more like a medium oil ball.  Dry lane balls are designed not to hook much, if they get weaker, isn't that part of the point?

A lot of the times when people say a ball is dead, it's usually the ball has rolled out.  I do believe there are equipment that do die, such as the "E" companies equipment.  I don't care how regularly you clean your equipment, it will die when it hits 60 games.

Also sometimes when a ball dies it isnt that it wont react anymore. Sometimes when a ball dies it can lose its hit. I have had this happen with a few balls. I had this happen to a Icon, and my Havoc. I loved both but they just happen to stop hitting after a few years. However most of the time people talk about ball death and they talk about reaction. However to many people consider the word hook with backend reaction. Not many people consider hook with early roll. I can think of a few people who I talked to after the PBA TOC who would say I though the TNV was a big hooking ball or the Big shot was a big hooking ball. They would go on to say I didnt see it move at all in the back. This is a problem, to many people think backend movement is what hook is.
