« on: December 20, 2010, 09:54:36 PM »
i need another ball to add to my arsenal, but im not sure what i should get? im currently using a 916AT, Mutant Cell and a Gamebreaker (soon to be replaced). so i have a void thats needs to be filled. i was thinking on either a 505T or a 505A? whats your thoughts?

I have never thrown the 505A, but I can speak to the quality of the 505T.

The 505T will probably be able to replace your Gamebreaker if you take the ball to a similiar surface. However, if you leave the 505T at it's box finish the ball is pretty much one of the best balls in the midlane I have ever thrown. What makes the ball so great is that even with all that midlane it still reads the backends really hard. I think what really makes this ball amazing is how long I can stay with it considering it's relative strength. Unless it's a second shift late league, I can stay with it pretty much the entire night, and the deeper I get the harder it comes back.

My 505T is drilled pin down, below the fingers on the grip line, with the MB next to the thumb with a flare increasing hole.

Are you referring to the void below your gamebreaker?  I believe the 505T is a great ball but will overlap your gamebreaker.  505A or 300C will be a nice addition to something below your gamebreaker.  300C longer and smooth....505A longer and very sharp on the back.

I think a pin down layout with the 505T and your favorite surface will be a much better option than the Burst.

how much of a difference is there between the 505T and the 916AT? i absolutely love the 916 and i have that pin down, similar to the #1 layout suggested.

I have seen mixed things in regards to the 916AT. I bowl in Florida, and at every house I've seen the 916AT used it's the strongest ball Track has produced by a lot, except for maybe the 930T due to the mica.

However, a lot of the ball reviews have the 916AT below the 920T. Personally, I think the 916AT is a ton more ball, and more hook than everything else in the Track line up. It will be a huge change from the 505T if you are worried about them being close at all. For me the 916AT was at least 7 boards left of the 505T.

track-attak,  the 505T will be a perfect replacement for the gamebreaker. I would layout the 505T identical to the gamebreaker and give it the same surface.  You will be suprised how similar these balls are.  As far as filling your void,  I feel you need the 300c.  Give it a strong drilling.  Hit it with 500/1000/2000/4000 abralon and watch it score.  Great low price piece of equipment.

thanks for all of the replys, the info really helps. i may get the 505T eventually, but im still not sure because my 916AT has been doing an excellent job. i was contemplating getting another but shining it up? i mean i really match up well with the 916, so im still kind of debating. i doubt i will get a 300C, because i dont really run into dryer type conditions.
