Need Track advice.
« on: September 24, 2005, 11:00:10 AM »
I have been thinking of getting a Delta 1, My problem is I have more speed then hand an at times have a hard time finding the pocket.  So my question is do u think this ball will match up well for me, an if so what drilling would you recommend?

Well I think i am ordering my GP2 tomorrow night at bowling.  Think of using a  4 1/2 x 5 1/2 drill (pin under ring mb just right of thumb). My fingers are crossed this ball work for me.

Well getting my GP2 drilled on tuesday.  Still looking for drilling suggestions.  Still leaning toward 4 1/2 x 5 1/2, thought about drilling stronger an polish if need be.  An is 170 A decent price for it from my pro shop?

Here in Canada, all proshops sell balls at retail, so I wouldn't know if $170 is a good price down there.  Compared to up here though, it's an awesome price!

As for the drilling, I think you should move the MB closer to about 4 to 4 1/2" from your PAP.  I'd rather have a ball be too strong than not strong enough.  I find it easier to tame a ball down than make it more aggressive up front while still having a lot for the backend.

Hey bowlingff, I agree with Icetink here.  Placing your mb 5 1/2 away may cause a little too much delay in reaction.  However, the coverstock is much stronger compared to your Depth Charge.  It really depends on the reaction "shape" you want but I would also bring the mb a little closer just to help the ball get started sooner.  Hope this helps...
