New ball: the Crash
« on: March 10, 2004, 01:21:33 AM »
March issue of Bowlers' Journal had the Crash. It appears to be the VooDoo re-incarnated: same core shape (see the Mojo and the VooDoo in the discontinued section of the track websire), extremely close numbers for the core (RG = 2.54, RG DIff = .047) and the Solid Plus Solid (polished, according to the BJI review) reactive cover, which is, I believe, the same as the Crunch's and the Havoc's cover.

I don't see the Crash on the Track website or on BowlingBallReviews.com, nor here.

Hey Charlest,

One of my distributors states the due date as 3/22.  Yeah, I heard it looked like a Voodoo core also.....

The Crash, according to Track, is supposed to be super skid flip. That's all I know about it.

Don't know about "super", but the VooDoo was sort of skid/flip like the Columbia version, the original Wicked.

I have had my 2 Crash for a while now and all i can say is WOW.
It´s like having my VOODOO again.
It is very flippy if you drill it that way.
I have drilled 1 ball 5*3 and it flips.
And another 5*5 who has more control with a sharp backend(not flippy).
The 5*5 drilling has worked best for me and also for my costumers because its
not so sensitive to carrydown.

See the ball here:

Hi Sir Track A Lot,

How've you been?  I'm just curious as to what the "Pris of $2195" equates to in US dollars, thanks.  Do you use this on med/lite conditions?  Thanks for your time..

Sir,

How does this ball compare to the Crunchtime?  Did you drill yours pin above the fingers or below?  I had a Voodoo that I drilled 5 x 5 but went above the fingers.  Ball was very hard to control downlane.  I like how it hit but I never got a chance to drill another one.

Re Track Crash. 2175 Swedish Krona = $290. That's in the mid-price range here in Sweden. The ball has also been reviewed by a staff player for the Swedish distributor, who writes that it has substantially more length and a calmer kick than his X-factor Re-loaded.

Hi

2195 kr = 300$ today.
1 1/2 years ago 2195 were 210$
I know it´s expensive but the transport to Denmark + danish taxes
are extremely high.
If my costumers buy´s balls over the net (usa) by them self, the cost
will be almost the same when i charge about 50$ for drilling.
The Crash is clearly a medium oil ball but can be used on many lanes as long
there is little or no carrydown.

Both my Crash are with pin above.
The crash goes much longer than Crunch Time and turns sharper.
But the overall hook are less.

Hope this helps

Hello,

I actually saved 300-400 Kr when I got a ball from the US shipped by boat. That included sales tax, customs charges, drilling and slugs here in Sweden. Downside was shipment took 10 weeks.

Looks like a nice ball. I will wait till I see in here in the US before I buy. I don't really want to blow 300$ on a ball. The block would kinda be like the block in the Ti Messenger without the titanium nugget.

It´s correct that you can save 300 kr by boat and
100 by air. But you dont know what condition the ball is in.
If the ball crack´s with in the first year or other things,
you can´t get a refund at your proshop.
And i also often give my good customers 10% discount.

Sir Track a Lot,

You are correct. I support my ball driller all the way. He drilled this one too. The reason I got this ball from the US was Dyno-Thane has no distribution here in Sweden. Later I found out you can get D/T stuff from the UK.

Who would you want to spend that much for a bowling ball. I would just wait for it to come out or get a Voo Doo off the discontinued rack at the pro shop I go to.
