Bowling on our 34' heavy pattern in my Thursday sport challenge league, I was able to take out the Animal and ride along the edge of the heavy/friction line (targetting 15 out to 12, more of an up the back release at 14 mph) to the tune of an opening 235 game, throwing a 5 bagger in the middle (my longest string of strikes in a sport league to date). I even managed to stay calm when I threw 2 poor shots before and after the string of strikes (covering the bucket and a 1-3-6-10).
Once again I'm so glad I have Track in my bag at all times, whether the patterns are short and heavy, long and medium/light or long and flat. Now that I've added a part time job on the weekends to my normal overnight schedule, don't be surprised if another Track ball or two ends up in my hands...

Nice job Matt!!
Hey, not to hijack, but I am going to watch the NEBA tourney on the Saturday prior to you bowling. I figured I will be a spectator for the day and see what a big tournament atmospher is like. In addition, I will try to make note of how the lanes played to give you a heads up on what to expect when you go on Sunday. You know, I am almost convinced that I might actually bowl the Saturday squad!! I want to try it out to get some tournament experience.

It's been my experience that Saturday night NEBA shots can be a little different than Sundays. If you want the true tournament feel of NEBA you should bowl on Sunday and the squad size is always bigger. Just remember that we utilize the PBA style of lane courtesy and if you reserve a spot through the NEBA website you are entered into a ball raffle. Good luck to you if you decide to go...I would be there this weekend but I have a family function most of the day on Sunday that's going to prohibit me from bowling.
Matt...
Nice bowling buddy! Really glad to see that sport shot league is helping you out and that the balls are helping you out. Can't wait to see what you are thinking of drilling up next either. :-)

I feel you Matt, I bowled on a new pair of synthetic lanes yesterday at this house in cleveland and pulled out the animal and shot 253 with it and followed up by shooting 248 with the arsenal aggressive. I too was playing up the gutter more like betwween 10 and 5 and they were ripping the rack to shreds. I have the front 8 with the animal. Too bad my buddies were only bowling for 2dollars a game. LOL LOL.

Chris,
The reason why I wouldnt bowl on Sunday is because I will be on a plane to Floriday as of 7 am Sunday morning. In addition to that, I was told that there is a rule to the NEBA tournament that anyone who lives within 20 miles of the house hosting the tourney, needs to bowl the first day. Thats why I would need to bowl on Saturday if that is the case. I live about 5 minutes from AMF Holiday Lanes in Somerset.
I will probably sit this one out as I only have 2 tournament entries under my belt and those were both IBA tourneys over 2 years ago. I am definately going to go to be a spectator though and get a feel for the tournament atmosphere and see how the shot plays.

Ryan: You'll get a little bit of the feel for the tournament through the Saturday squad, but having bowled on both days I think Sunday gives you a bigger feel for the transitions all the bowlers go through. There are less bowlers usually on Saturdays which translates to higher squad cuts...
Chris: Yeah, I'll have to think about what I may get next, so many choices on the market. Probably will be another Track offering, but you never know.

Matt, that's awesome! Can't wait to participate in a sport league in my area soon and see what my Animal could do. You're right, this ball has also been a savior when encountering certan sport conditions or tough shots. It's bailed me out of trouble quite a few times. Glad I got a hold of one too!
Great shooting bud...

I bought my Animal used from a friend, who was frustrated with the ball. he said he couldn't get it to do any thing. I took it and played with it "as is" even though his span was longer..I found it to be THE MOST versatile ball I have ever owned! I can hook the entire lane with it, oil or no oil. And I can play down and in with it, with a gentle arc.
By changing releases, it gives me different hook shapes. I can get the big, loopy arc, the hockey stick look or the big banana all with a release change.
The hit and carry of this ball is just phenomenal! I also use it as my spare ball(unheard of). This ball is always in my bag, and bails me out on tuff conditions. Great, great ball.
