New to Track balls, need help please!!

Hey gang, I am looking for a new ball and the uprising has caught my attention.  Before I delve into all that here is a little info about how I throw and what I am looking for in the new ball.  Currently my PAP is 5.75, up 1.25,  Normal speed is around 13 - 14 at the pins.  I would guess medium revs, but have never had it measured.  Not the lowest revs around, not the highest either.  I would be called a strong stroker.

Anyway, I currently throw mainly Brunswick stuff plus a cell.  My favorite piece is my polished Copperhead.  It is just smooth and consistent.  The problem with the Copperhead is if you start getting too   wide, the ball won't make it back.  I know I can get rid of the polish and cure the problem, but I really like the current reaction.  I also have a Cell at 2000 and polish.  I do like this ball, Except we just don't see enough oil to throw this ball very long.  

What I am looking for is a ball that is more than the Copperhead, less than the Cell that is consistent.  I don't want a skid/snap or a pearl ball.  The Uprising caught my eye and it sounds good, unfortunately there are very few track balls here at all.  Just a few Machines.  

So with such little experience with Track I am turning to you guys.  I know everyone has their own opinion and every center and bowler are different, but keep in mind consistency.  I don't care about total hook.  I want a consistent move with power left at the pins.  Any help or experiences with this ball would be greatly appreciated.

The Uprising is a very strong ball and needs a good amount of oil (medium heavy). I love this ball but once the lanes starts drying up it does not hit well. If you dont mind trying non track balls I would highly recommend the Rapid Fire. It is an excellent ball for medium lane condition. It has a very consistent reaction and carries very well. I have other balls (Cell, cell pear, rapid fire pearl, gravity shift, etc..) but the rapid fire is the most consistent and predictable reaction.

Kinetic Energy or Temper both great bowling balls for me the KE is at least a 9.5/10 ball on league shots.

I had a period for over 30 games my low game was 198 with it, being a ball whore i have been throwing other stuff I have picked up lately with some old school stuff i had redone.

Personally I doubt if the UpRising will be significantly different from the Cell at 2000 grit Abralon + polish. Both are strong solids, with strong Mass Bias (so they're very sensitive to the drilling and a consistent release).

I wonder what grit the Copperhead is before you added polish. The Copperhead is not a weak ball, even with polish. I find it hard to believe there's enough room to put a ball between a polished CH and the Cell @2000+polish. A lot depends on the grit level of the CH and what polish you used and how you applied it. The answer to that will reveal the answer to your question.

But how different will they be from a polished Copperhead?? Not very, I suspect.

I don't know the answer to that question, until we learn what the grit level of the CH was before being polished, what polish was used and how much.

The Copperhead is at 1000 abralon and a medium coat of Black Magic polish.    There is a significant difference between a Cell and Copperhead both being polished.  With that said the Cell is drilled A LOT more aggressive.  It is a 4x4 drill, with the Copper head being a approx. 5x3.  The Cell has a 2.5" pin and the Copperhead has 3.5" pin.  You can tell a difference in the cores just by the oil rings, the Cell is farther apart and the CH are tighter. In this case, the Cell is noticeably more aggressive.

1000 grit Abralon (550 grit US) is much rougher than the stock 800 grit US.
How much Black Magic did you apply? Is it a really high gloss finish?
I ask because BM polish has a tendency to make the ball skid a lot more than regular polish. When applied heavily, it has an effect much like Delayed Reaction or Control-It. ...  Please ignore the preeceding or keep inmind as a reference.
 
Well, no matter. Sorry, I took a wrong turn there. If you say there's a gap between them, it does not matter why. It exists, and that's the only important aspect.

I still expect the UpRising to be too close to the Cell. A Kinetic Energy or Temper should fit below the polished Cell.

thanks for the input.  I did not apply a great amount of Black Magic, it is not a high gloss.  I do have other polishes, such as rough buff, factory finish and storm reacta shine.  Any thoughts on these to give the ball a little more bit on the outside????  

I just really like the consistency of this ball.  I may be just as well served buying another and drilling it stouter, with the factory surface.  I was hoping the uprising would have done this.

Uprising would be less ball than the Cell Polished if same drilling not a big step down in power like the Temper would be. The Kinetic energy would be closer to the CH though overall, your gap is closer than you think.

I have every one of these balls but the CH, so I can vouch for what you are asking not guessing at anything. Btw My cell is polished over 2k also so yes i do have almost this setup you have, I watch a CH every week with a team mate I know what it is doing on the same pair when i throw any of the other ball heads up to it.
