New VIDEO: Track Machine
« on: June 19, 2006, 02:13:10 PM »
Hey BR & Track Forum Family,

Well it has been awhile since I've posted a Video in the Track Forum.
Thought it would be fun to goof off and make another one for y'all.

I know the quality isn't as good as the ones Michael (SteveAustin2808), Rick (tenpinspro), & others
have made here, but I decided to work on one and show you what this piece did on a Medium-Oily
shorter pattern with some Hang on the outside boards.

Quality is a little grainy due to the fact that I am still using Windows Movie Maker on Windows ME (Older version) and it compresses it quite a bit.
My apologies again in advance.

Well onto some information about the ball.

This ball was recently acquired through a trade with Aaron (Volley_Man). Funny thing is he acquired this ball in
a previous trade with Tracy (T Brockette), earlier this year! I ended up with the ball after doing a trade with
Aaron. Cool thing is Tracy and I have almost the exact same span. Pitches according to Tracy were almost
an exact match as well with a little variance. All I did was add tape to the fingers and thumbhole and...Bingo!

House Bowled at: Bel Mateo Bowl in San Mateo, California
Lane type: New Synthetic (Will check on the brand)
Date: Sunday June 18, 2006 @ 12 Noon

Lane Condition: As usual Bel Mateo seems to be known for its' shorter patterns (medium oily). There is also Hang/OOB outside of the 5 Board. This shot can be tricky. Fellow Ballreviews member Jonathan Ng and I have practiced here quite a few times and have experienced that if you bump the ball out early on this short pattern, the ball will go through the nose or brooklyn. If you get the ball out wide and late, it won't come back after encountering the OOB. Also, on this day, there wasn't too much hold in the middle, so my best shot was to chase the oil deep and fade it out to about 6-7 boards. Also, we were bowling on leftovers from Bumper Bowling & Practice! Yikes! I had to look down the lane a little further just to get the ball to push through the mids. Very speed sensitive today as well.

Shots: I was only able to take about 7-8 Shots due to a low battery, but there are shots on both the left and right lane. You will see the ball hang on the left lane after encountering the OOB. Some of the shots on the right lane, I had to move my body to the right so my body wouldn't block the ball path and reaction at the pin deck.

Compared to my other equipment that day:
I also brought with me a Track Heat (Pin over bridge W/CG kicked a pinch right on midline)
The One (Pin under ring & MB 1 1/2" right of thumb)
Big One (Same drilling as The One)

Out of all the balls, the Light Load Particle coverstock on this ball blended out the shot the best. The One was too jumpy off the dry. The Big One was reading too early and grabbing the mids a bunch. The Track Heat was skating a bit too much, but had great bite on the back end. The Machine helped out a bunch by blending out the shorter pattern.

Hope this information and video help you guys out in some way.
If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up.

NOTE: Best Quality is the Original Version (But smaller screen), but if you choose 480 Pixels or higher, you'll get to see a bigger viewing area.

Hope this Information and Video are helpful to you guys.

Best Regards,
Dodge Ram

Haha, nice job Ram. Cool video, glad to see you liked it enough to run out and give it some Lane Lovin'... As much as I was disappointed to let it go, it appears it will have a better home (and go to better use) with you. Treat it well! LOL.

Once again, nice job. G'Nite!

Great vid bud.  I almost pulled the trigger and bought one of these today.  I figured I would wait to see one in action.  I ended up buying a desert heat.  I used to have a DH but had it drilled too strong for what I want it for.  I was in desperate need of a toasted condition ball.  Now I have it again.

I have an arsenal of Raw Hammer Dooms which is a reactive ball.  I don't own a particle ball anymore and feel I need one.  I feel a particle pearl is a good choice for those over /under conditions that us bowlers face sometimes.

I'm still looking but will keep the Machine in mind.

Ramilla Ice,

Great vid bud!! I really like the bits with Arnie and Norris. Funny stuff. As for the ball reaction....Looks good! I love my Machine. The ball just reacts so smoothly. Yours is nice and smooth too. Great job on the vid, keep up the great work.

Your little up and down bounce in your approach was coreographed perfectly with the music.

Thanks for the replies and feedback guys.

After watching that video, it confirms that I still must not get too excited.
I tend to have fast feet at times hehe. I also need to be consistent with a deeper knee bend. Lots of work to do!

Ragnrk mentioned that I should do a comparison of this ball Vs. my The One with a Pin up and MB right of thumb (almost the same layout), I just might have to do that.

dogman666 mentioned the bounce I have in my approach before I start the first step. Hehe, I've been doing that for a good 6-7 months, it's kind of like what Tony Reyes and Jason Couch do. Guess it's a cadence, counting, timing type of thing to settle me down before my start my first step. It's kinda worked its' way into my pre-shot routine. Just looks pretty goofy that's all haha.

Rick, I didn't disinfect the ball, but maybe Clean N' Dull did the trick hahaha.

Take care guys,
Ram
