Title: No love for used Track equipment?
Post by: MC on August 28, 2008, 06:05:50 AM
I have noticed that a lot of people (including myself) are having trouble selling used Track balls. Has anyone else noticed this? Anybody have any ideas why?

Im so glad people are brainwashed to think that TRACK sucks. And its even funnier when im carrying with my TRACK ball and they're going flat ten with their BRUNSWICK ball.

The biggest reason is that the newer pieces are making quite a name for themselves.  Most notably, the K.E. Rising, and UpRising.  Not to mention, depending on where you go or who you know, you can get a brand new ball relatively cheap.

I've seen some places that are trying to sell old pieces like the Phenom Unleashed for 150$. Not happening.

X,

If you could show me where the place had the $150 PU for, I would buy it NOW, provided it was a 1st Q undrilled PU.

The used ball market *in general* is pretty bad right now.

My league is tomorrow.  If the shop still has it(which they should) I'll get the weight, and even a pic if you want.  I know it's undrilled-I've seen it.  I'll PM you tomorrow night.

Not for nothing. If you are trying to sell used balls prior to Ebonite taking over, you may have a hard time. There are a handfull of good ones, but not everyone wants old stuff. Try Ebay. Other than that, the newer stuff should go quick. It is the best out there.

It all depends on what you want, like and matchup with. I still use my 2 drilled 5.0's and have a NIB 5.0 and power machine.

In my bag for fall league: 5.0, Rising, KE and Kenetic.

The 5.0 is the ball that drove me away from Track. It never did matched up to me from day one. I loved the Havoc a bunch. I liked the Heat remake also as well as the Triton Elite Solid several years ago, but hated the 5.0 and before that, hated the Contender and Enforcer also.

I am trying to sell a Kinetic and only had one offer and it was dependent on what he sold his balls on ebay for. I know that there are a couple others trying to sell used Kinetics and not getting any offers.

I am getting an old RoboRule and will buy a Mean Machine.

I had good success with my Arsenals evne though the drilled f*!"§!%§§!ed them up with a 0.8 too long span and hurtung fingers...

some time with L#1... nothing special honestly

So here I am... great things with my Machine... getting two more balls with the same core and different coverstocks...

But also have seen good results with the new stuff.... quality is a must nowadays ... so I guess every ball is good in the right hands

I agree with the used market being tough.  Heck...I just unloaded a NIB GP2 this week for $68.00 + shipping.  In my opinion...that's a bargain.

I had it on here forever and had the price set a bit high and figured I'd be flexible.  I just got tired of seeing it laying around for a few years and tossed it on ebay and figured I'd take what I got for it.

The Enforcer made myself and even my doubles partner quite a bit of money.  I believe I had three of them until it was all said and done.  Until the Rising came out, I didn't think I'd ever see that type of ball motion out of my bag again.  The Rising has been great for me just like the Enforcer.  I would even be close to saying that the Uprising is similar to what the Assassin was for me, but with more backend than the big A.

Seeing those reaction shapes with non-particle pieces is a wonderful thing.

htownstaff- I am the one who bought that GP2 from you and I just wanted to say thanks again. It really was a heck of a deal. The ball is punched up but I haven't found enough oil to throw it on yet.

The assassin was awesome, was the only Track ball I've ever thrown and that was sweet at the time, that thing had a ton of backend pop.

Its hard to justify spending the money. Say you get the ball for $25, spend another $20 for shipping then another $20-30 to clean it, slug, put in new inserts or have the ball plugged and you could have just ordered a new bowlingball. Or bought the old nib from a forum or ebay.

good points, now the other side of the coin.I've bought used with needing very little or none at all.span, grips and layout were all good.I clean on my spinner so thats nill as well.then you have a ball that is no longer available, something you wanted to replace or try and never got around to trying.at the most I've paid 65.00 shiped for a ball and another 20.00 for grips and slug,85bucks as opposed to 150-200 for a new ball and most times that would be the cost for the same ball.most times I'm happy to just trade for something else.

True if you find one close to your span you can get buy cheaper but it is still kinda high considering the new stuff on ebay is about $100 shipped. Or if you patient you can get the older stuff new.

In the past year off ebay I bought NIB in 15lbs, Track Green Synergy Pearl, Synergy ETS, Havoc Pearl, two purple solutions, two inertias, two equations, a delta rule, and a Tripple Threat all for $75 or less shipped. (with the exception of the Green synergy) Most were around $60. I had tostop buyingbecause I kept findind so much stuff so cheap. If you found something used locally and didnt have to pay shipping then it would be more worth while to me.

I'm still looking for a triple threat.  NIB or Single drill, it doesnt matter.  Htown, you don't by any chance still have one lying around you'd be willing to part with in the near future, do you?

Hey guys I've got a heavy 15lb Enforcer that I'd be willing to part with.  Been a long time since I've used it, I think it's on it's 2nd drill but I'll have to look to be sure.

The ball name that is bolded, where did you get one of those. I dont remeber one of those being made. Well not with the name Havoc, the onlything that comes close is a Night Hawk Pearl.

Not as bad as you might think...

I know of a shop that has the following San Antonio Track offerings -

NIB 15# Freak (perfect specs IMHO)
2 - NIB 15# Phenoms
2 - NIB 15# Rule
2 - NIB 15# Heat Blasts
NIB 15# Heat (remake)
NIB 15# Spell
NIB 15# Havoc
NIB 15# Solution Powerplus
NIB 15# Triple Threat
NIB 15# X-Ception 5.0
NIB 16# Heat 2
NIB 16# Triton TKO
NIB 16# Machine

Before anyone starts pestering me for prices, I don't know what they're asking for any of these.
