NOMAD SOLID-Similar?

I am looking for a ball to fit in my arsenal. I had a Nomad solid last year and absolutely loved it. I want the same ball otion and just as clean in the heads. What can I buy to achieve that?

Nomad was a polished solid....how would 716C compare?

I own a Nomad Solid, and it is one of my favorite pieces, all time. I especially love using it on med-hvy oil. I have not thrown the 716C yet, but I get to see it in action every week these days. In my opinion the 718A is a closer ball motion to the Nomad than the 716C. The 716C is extremely smooth, and I don't really see it handling med-hvy oil, unless you change the surface. But having said that......it might still work well.

 

I have thrown and do throw the 718A, and was pleasantly surprised by it's combination of power and smoothness. IMO it is much closer to the Nomad, overall.

Really? The 718A is closer than the 716C. 718A pearl cover skid/flip. 716C solid cover polished smooth. You haven't thrown the 716C but you make the conclusion it can't handle med/heavy oil. If you think the 718A is good, the 716C out hooks the 718A by about 5 boards. So I would say it can handle med/heavy. 718A changes direction too much down lane to fit the bill of the nomad solid.

Interesting. I have thrown and do throw a pin-up 718A, and a pin down 718A. I was really surprised that the pin down ball moved more than the pin up piece. Now you say the 716C can out hook the 718A??? This I would have to see! I guess it's all about who the controller is, surface prep, and lane conditions. The guy I've seen throw the 716C has a rev rate around 375(guesstimate). His balls are very smooth and controlled, and not very violent. We were throwing on medium oil, btw.

 

This has me very curious.
P.S. I understand, that. by the numbers, what you say ought to be true. I am basing my argument on what I have observed. Maybe when we put the two balls in a medium-hvy environment, we could get a true reading of their overall strengths, and likenesses.

I have thrown both on medium heavy and on pba patterns, on the fresh the 716C is definitely stronger on the fresh. As for my pin 716C outhooking my pin up it is because of the surface. I equate more hook to which ball starts up sooner and gets into a roll sooner. The more a ball hooks on the backend the less I equate to hook, that mean the ball doesn;t read the front quick enough to handle the oil in the mid lane. Now when the lane breaks down, then the pin up ball is going to get aroung the corner better and look like it hooks more.
