Of the new releases....
« on: July 23, 2007, 03:22:52 PM »
Which are you most excited about?

The Temper, Kinetic and Rising all have their place. I think the versatility of the Rising is going to shock alot of people. The strength of the breakpoint on the Kinetic is mind boggling! You have to see it to believe it. The Temper is a benchmark type ball. Those of you that liked the Havoc should end up liking this ball....it is rolls like the Havoc but retains energy down lane better.

One question...

if (Heaven forbid ) Ebonite decides to conform to 'pin-in' balls, what type of drill would yield the reaction I'm accustomed to?

Big Daddy,

Having an intermediate differential of .031 has tremendous influence on  reaction shape even with the pin in palm drill.

When we drilled Carl's Rising in Tennessee (I helped lay that out with Fig and knowing Carl's game), I kept the mass bias in a long and strong position and it did exactly that. Carl's piece still moved strongly on the backend out there and he says it moves even more at home (we were on a flat pattern 39-40 double oil).  Carl then moved over to the 39-40 ft flat single oil pair out there and just had the whole lane, very impressive.  So no worries here...

One more thing... the Kinetic being the 'upper-tier' ball, will the cost be around 'Lane #1/LaneMasters' pricing? (i.e. having 'Action Jackson - Lane #1 flashbacks ...  )

That's another incredible thing about this ball.  The Kinetic is in our mid upper category which means it should cost less than a high end piece.  Any bowler will truly feel they're getting their money's worth once they see the reaction and hitting power of this piece.

Though not anywhere close in core design to the Animal, but I know some people like Chitown were wanting an Animal with a reactive coverstock. Their prayers finally answered in the form of the Rising, huh Prez?

I'd say that would've been a little different still.  The Animal (even with its particle cover) went fairly long and had quite a bit of axis retention by design.  I had to suggest to others here and even sanded mine to 400-500 just to get it to hook in true oil.

The Rising at 4000 moved....and moved well in heavy oil.

Wow, The Rising seems like it has a lot of movement! I'm mainly awating for the balls in this order. Temper, Rising, Kinetic. I'm sort of liking the looks of the Temper, and it looks like it's already being underrated because of the 2 stronger balls, The Rising and Kinetic. I'm thinking the Temper will fit my game where i need it to fit. The Rising may be too much hook for my lanes, and i might only pick one up for tournament use.

Brian,

The Temper is not being underrated.....simply put the Kinetic and Rising caught more people's attention at the product showcase. It seemed like they worked for all styles very well. The Temper is a good piece, view it as a benchmark type ball.

Think of equipment in the past: Ebonite's V2, Track's Havoc.....essentially these were strong benchmark type balls (and both of them did well if I might add), that did not get alot of notice. The type of ball reaction you saw out of those is the type of ball reaction you will see out of the Temper.

Well, to no one's suprise, I'm most looking forward to the Rising-mainly because I've never had a Track "true heavy oil ball".  That and it's apparent overall versatility has indeed caught my eye.

I also may have to pull in a Kinetic.  From what I'm seeing, it appears to be a steroid-infused version of the Power Machine(but who's to say that the PM isn't on steroids itself hmmm? lol)

This upcoming fall season is looking to be quite an interesting one!
