drilling for rule
« on: October 17, 2004, 09:24:41 PM »
Getting a rule for a league on synthetics that carrydown quickly. The lanes start pretty decent, (medium/heavy), but break down fast. Not so much drying heads as large amounts of carrydown. I'm a med/high rev player with a low track. 4 5/16 over and 1/4 up. I have medium ball speed, @ 16mph. I was looking at the instructions on the track web site and I'm a little confused.
I don't want it to be super aggressive, having to launch the gutter cap to use it. Anybody drill one for a customer similar to me, let me know the results. Any ideas and suggestions are welcome.

     Thanks.

Hey Brian,

I'd suggest a 4x3.5mb from pap, pin 2-3 above midline.  This should produce a little more forward roll for you.  The roll should work well in helping you read the mids a little quicker and that will help you create the finish needed on the backend.  Hope this helps...

Brian,

Rick hit the drilling I was thinking about. The one thing that is worrisome is heavy oil for you could only be mediums for others (know what I mean?). So the good thing with the drilling that Rick suggested is that if it is too strong a SLIGHT coverstock adjustment would help.

Goodluck
