Original Heat vs. Heat Remake

How close are they?  Does the Remake have a stronger cover to correspond with the slicker conditions present now versus when the Original came out or is it nearly the same?

I ask because I just picked up an Original and have absolutely killed with it on light-oil to bone-dry lanes.  Which makes me wonder, with the dated cover on the Original, if it would be closer to the Remake or the Desert in the current line-up?

Based off the core number alone the Triton Heat of yester year has a much stronger core as well as recovery than the remake. I have used my Triton Heat drilled 4x3 pin over ring on med to med heavy patterns of 41 ft and the ball is very agressive,with a very strong finish. The older version has a rg diff of .051 where the newer version only has a .037 diff. from my perspective the older ball is a good 3-5 boards stronger.

Very well may have, my opin based off what I have seen. I do like the older version, as I still like the old Plymouth GTX better than the new Hemi Roadrunner.

The balls are identical sans the "Triton" label.  The diff on the older was not .051 and the RG on the newer is not 2.57.  The correct specs are 2.50 and .037 diff.  I never threw the original, but I've talked to several who still have the original and drilled the remake identically and they couldn't tell the difference in reaction.  I have 2 Heats, and they have been superb on everything from light conditions to heavier mediums (with a little scotchbrite).

The current Heat is stronger than the Desert Heat. It hooks much earlier and is stronger downlane.
