I am going to say this for all of us here. When the staffers post here, like myself, we are here to help, as most everyone is. With that said, even if someone chooses not to use Track, we should not bash them. Just as we match up well with Track equipment and not with others, the same goes for them. We need to respect that. Del and the rest of the team in San Antonio did not build such a strong following in a short amount of time by stepping on toes, they have done it step by step with great equipment and adding quality people along the way.

Also, we need to restrain from poking fun at the Lane 1 guys, or any other brand for that matter. That is NOT the way Track does business. When I cam on staff, I was told point blank...if I ever raised my voice, acted out of line, etc when I was representing Track or anywhere else is present, it is a reflection on the company and they would NOT tolerate it, thus I will not tolerate it in this forum when it is directed at another person/company. While at the surface one may think that would mean more sales for GP2s if this does turn out to be true about the Super, by the same token, we are a bowling COMMUNITY, we need to stick together. If the USBC can and will make a ball legal 3 years ago illegal, whats not to say any company, including us, are next. What if they decide you can only have 1 type of particle in a cover....that means the dual particle GP2 is out the door. We need to stand up and say this is wrong by making a ball illegal that originally was not, unless there is a VERY good explanation.

We need to find the real reason why this is occuring and go from there.

did i miss something clint? Are people bashing lane 1 throwers because there best heavy oiler is (for some god knows what reason) not usable? I think we should all support these guys here, they shell out 200 bucks for a kick a## ball and it gets shot down by the USBC...

also i agree, its time to stand up, as bowlers, against the USBC, they should be looking out for us bowlers, not shooting us with rediculous rules and now this...

It simply needs to stop.

If any company or person pokes fun at any other then that company/person is acting childish. The problem with the SCB is principle, it did not matter what ball was banned.

No but according to Doug Sterner, Lane 1 never actually stopped making the SCB to begin with. They just decided to put a factory coat of polish on it. That's where all the confusion is coming from, because it's apparently not technically a new release (unless the USBC considers changing factory surface to be releasing a new ball).

But I agree with clint. Nobody should make fun of anyone. Afterall, it could happen to any of us. What if the USBC randomly declared any balls using any variety of activator or goo coverstock to be illegal? Yikes.

The same thing could happen to a Track ball as well.. If the SCB ban is true, the USBC are not done by a long shot. I bet multiple balls from each ball company will be banned.

Just like I wrote in the SCB is banned post. I think the USBC are going to use this SCB ban as an example that they are serious in making the ball companies stay within the USBC specs and no one believed them but I bet now they do!!

No one is safe in this, not even Track..

I've never wanted a ball so much in my life!!! i want a super carbide!!! lol jk, it's that old' you want what you can't have' attitude.

i agree with clint on this, i'm very interested to see why a 3 year old ball that was previously perfectly legal in competition now be tossed out.

I think Clint is referring, in part, to an attempt at humor or sarcasm by Chitown in his post "Call in the Bomb Squad". He didn't mean any harm, and I don't think it was taken offensively, but some folks that throw Lane 1 are upset to begin with and may receive it the wrong way, causing disention within this small community of ours.
We all need to realize that what the USBC is doing is serious. If we allow them to do things like this, realize it is the first in a series of more to follow. We must all speak out against this and keep them in their rightful place. Once they have the upper hand in these matters, they will not hesitate to execute similar rulings in the future. If we all let them know (as bowlers, not necessarily Lane 1 throwers) that we won't stand for this, we can hopefully prevent future decisions of this nature. Be tactful when contacting them regarding any issues. If you're vulgar and offensive, you will not be well received.

Wasn't coming down on anyone in particular. Just thought it was time to say something as the mud flinging in general has increased in all the forums. Track wants exposure, but just make it for the right reasons!

Well said Clint, regardless of what company you are affliated with or company you tend to support over all others we still are a community of one. Granted the USBC is not perfect by any means neither are we. Let's give them the oportunity to explain why they have chose to make this unfavorable decision and then begin to voice our opinions.

The ruling looks like that the present SCB bowling ball that is is being made comes under the ruling of bowling balls being manufactured now. Just read the Lane ad about being the only ball with the 71 RG. USBC Ruling:Reduce maximum RG differential from .080 to .060

If they are coming back with the SCB they have to follow the new guide lines.
Now this puts in jeopardy the people that bought the balls before the ruling. Who will identify the legal balls before the ruling versus the new ones if they look the same.

Lane has put the bowlers that bough the SCB before the ruling in a position that they cannot use the SCB that they bought before the ruling.

Like Clint Daley says, never try to put down or bash a bowler because of the equipment they use. It shows lack of respect and education of the people that does so.

I think something has happened here and that there is a BIG misunderstanding.

Lane 1 has never taken the SCB out of the lineup, but how long has it been since they POURED some of them?

It may be the U.S.B.C.'s contention that too long of a period between pourings is tantamount to being a "re-release", thus causing the problem.

Where I am drawing my conclusion from is that they list it as two seperate balls, a 2002 model and a 2005 model. In which case, not being able to distinguish between the two, the U.S.B.C. was forced to ban them all.

I think that the U.S.B.C. may not have been given all the info they needed to make a good decision and, in lack of said evidence, made a hasty, rash decision.

I think, and hope, that once it is all said and done, the U.S.B.C. can return it to the approved list, at least for all those who puchased it prior to it being banned. If not, well..........

I gotta admit, I flipped a little bit on the Lane #1 people, I was speaking on emotions instead of logic (which I tend to use very rarely...) and I kinda feel bad about ripping on the Lane #1 people. I guess my reaction would be similar if the GP2 or the Arsenal Aggressive or the Big Deal or whatever particle ball was banned, I wouldn't be too happy. Clint is right, we should be the better person.
