I have stated in the past that Track's major problem is that they have nothing for light oil. In the current lineup that is true......

BUT not so long ago they had the Track Magic (I just discovered what kind of ball it is, so I think it was rather hidden and not given the credit it deserves) which easily fits the bill as a light oil ball (atleast for me). The Voo Doo was alteast 6 boards stronger with it polished with Controll it than the Track Magic is.

The Track Magic for me is only about 3 boards stronger than the BuzzsawXXXL. The only problem with the Track Magic now is that they are not making it any longer. It was a dry lane ball they made that was probably overlooked by too many bowlers.

HOWEVER....those are tricky balls to deal with. Not every track magic is like that. In box condition with any drill they are AGGRESSIVE balls, I'd say about 3 more boards than a Hex with a same drill but 3-5 boards less than a Crunch. I've been through 3 different Magics with 3 different drillings. The one I gave you I had to go through hell to make that a dry lane ball. I started out with it in box finish. Wet Sanded it with 1000 grit to smooth out the surface. But on a coat of Black Magic, 1 coat of Delayed Reaction and two coats of TEC Shine AFTER adding a weighthole to take it back to 3/4 ounces of negative weight. So what you basically have with that ball I sent you is a highly watered down version of the real track magic which is by no means a weak ball. The current Magic I am using in my arsenal is about 4 boards less than my Silver Streak Solid which is a pretty aggressive ball and it is 3-4 more boards stronger than my Werewolf Solid with a length drilling.

I do love this ball for the fact that you can do so many things with the surface and drillings to find completely different reactions.

Ok, they have several balls that hook and as you said each newer one out does the older one. I have read on several occasions about how league bowlers come in and just want a ball that hooks a ton. League bowlers carry ball companies, period---there is no argument there. So if that is the case and majority wants the balls that hook, wouldn't you see Track as doing the correct thing as far as marketing right now?

I know, and most of the knowledgeable bowlers know that you need a an arsenal that has some thing for each degree of lane condition you will face. With that said, most league bowlers in my area (so maybe it is true in other areas as well) only bowl one league, and if they want a ball that hooks then Track is giving it to them.
