Gotta say it again about the Slash
« on: May 19, 2005, 03:00:13 PM »
On tougher patterns, this ball definitely can shine. Happened to use this ball for half the night on a 45 foot sport pattern and I was able to shoot a clean 221 game to start. Ended up playing the lanes similarly to the Tournament of Champions pattern- down and in over the second arrow. Wish I could have stayed with this ball all night, but 3 lefties broke the pattern inside down and I had to move to another ball.

Thanks again Track for keeping me in the game on tough conditions.

Matt

Hey Matt,

How about grabbing another Slash and applying a bit of polish?

Ex: What's funny is the Slash that I currently have was taken down to 800 grit and then my ball driller applied some Magic Shine to it so that it would have a polished look while still being aggressive enough for the conditions I've been encountering lately.

I hit the heavier 34 foot sport pattern tonight, got my best look from the Animal but I'm thinking that maybe a GP2 will be in order for this shot the next time I see it. 80 units of oil from boards 1-9, 65 units from 10 to 10... I managed to pull out a 500 series on the nose, left a lot of pocket splits and noticed that speed control was a factor all night long.

Hey Matt,

Good work bud.  You still my utmost respect for being one of the better bowlers who haven't gone crazy cause they don't average 220 on every condition.  What were you, like 220+ on one shot and about 190 on the other?  That's good grinding....great attitude!

Rick: You are correct. 226 on one condition at one house, 189 at another much more difficult house. Right now I'm bowling two summer leagues- one in the 226 house (where I'm at 227 after 2 weeks) and a sport challenge league at a house an hour away that I've never competed in (and so far on two different conditions I'm averaging 176 to date).

Track helps me get through these various conditions for the best...

Is this Track's version of V2 Sanded?

Everyone who has a Slash has been singing high praises, yet this ball is almost criminally ignored by the bowling community, including me!

Ok, Slash is now officially on my 'Wanted list'!

That is the exact problem with a benckmark ball. It isn't the flashiest, big bender, make the head pin slap the 10 harder than you threw the ball new high performance ball on the market. Sales are usually good, but not good enough to keep it around for more than a year or 2 (V2 and Original Eraser being the xceptions-pun intended), and then they are gone. The company can't keep them in their line as new products are being introduced and the sluggish sales of an older ball don't make the profits needed. It stinks, but that is the truth.

So you say, and yet, now, supposedly, the brand new, not-even-up-for-sale Blue Heat will superceded the almost-underground Slash???

'splain it to me, Lucy!

I don't know if its true, but, look at the Rule. I have heard (only heard, nothing 100%) it will be dicontinued. It was less than a year ago the Rule was the best thing introduced since butter, and now its already on the chopping block. Look at the Animal, its gone after 1 1/2 years. The Animal was/is super popular among people here and in my area.

So, the Slash may be on the way out. Only Track knows that sure. Its all about sales and what you have done for me right now, not last month. Every company is forced to get rid of stuff that isn't selling and introduce new, especially in this market where there is hardly no brand loyalty any more.

Other than the Rule.....Track's trend has been to keep its high performance equipment current for a year to a year and half.

There is no telling what the Blue Heat will replace if anything. I will let Track decide that. I can easily see the Heat line and the Slash both being current at the same time. The Slash is a dull reactive benchmark kind of ball. According the link posted on another thread the Blue Heat is a WOW 2 particle. Basically 2 different kind of reactions.
