mini review: Animal
« on: February 05, 2004, 07:48:36 AM »
The reaction I got out of this ball is awesome. Length of the Unleashed with a much stronger move at the breakpoint. I think that was simply because of the polish.

When the Animal hits the dry LOOKOUT......direct turn left(for a righty naturally). The HIT on this ball is unbelievable. I had said previously that the Mutant was hardest hitting ball I have ever used since the Morpheous core was first released-----forget that, this ball hits even harder than the Mutant. I say that, and it is the same kind of hit.....the pins fly in every direction and never the same twice in a row.

On a 44ft pattern (38 heavy, buffed to 44) I was standing 30 and playing 17 out to 7-8 board. This is 5 boards deeper than I stand with the Unleashed. I have also said previously that the Phenom was stronger than the Unleashed, but even with the compound finish, the Animal is strong than the Phenom was. Most of you will not be able to use this ball because it does hook THAT MUCH......but just apply a weaker drill and you should be alright.

So far....I am extremely happy with the Animal. Once I get some more games on it, I will post a review.

ROCK.....I guess I could have posted that. I started to ramble a little bit.

The layout I have on this ball is very similiar to the layout I have on my Phenom Unleashed.

Pin under the ring finger
MB on my VAL and about 3 inches below my PAP.

This is a pretty heavy roll drilling. It starts reading the lane almost immediately. As soon as it finds dry----LOOKOUT. Just into the third game I probably should have put the Animal away, but I wanted to stay with it. There was a pretty dry area worn into the pattern at 10 board, and if I did not start the ball in deep enough it would jump brooklyn.

Angst,

My PAP is 4 7/8 lateral, and 3/4 UP. I love the drill on this ball, and the reaction it gives me. However, even with the compound finish, you cannot use this ball when the oil disappears.

I got mine drilled today also.I have mine drilled Pin above ring finger, CG below and to the right of ring finger and MB on the VAL in the strong position.

I have to agree with you Excaliber, great length and a lot stronger move then the Unleashed.

This ball is awesome. I have tried it on many different lines, and it works great. VERY versatile. A slight change in hand position and release, and I can play this ball in the dry, or cover 25 boards. That said, and I have to keep making it clear, this is with the box surface on the ball. I have been very tempted to take the shine off and see what it will do-------not yet though.
