Open post to the Track followers:
4 Ball Arsenal
Yes, I know it may be difficult (it is for me), but, if you were faced with only bringing 4 balls to league/tournament/practice/whatever else, what would be the 4 Track balls you currently own that you would bring. Doesn’t need to be in current line, you can use any discontinued balls as well.
Here is mine-
GP2-Heavy
Xception-Mediums
Hexplosion- Light medium
Heat(new remake)-Drier
I think I could cover almost anything I see outside of the Sahara……

Clint,
This is what I currently see me taking to a tournament if I could only take 4:
Heavy: GP2
Mediums: Arsenal Aggressive (still have to get a new one)
Med/Light: Xception
Dry: Heat
I have a really difficult time not including the Slash in there, but those will fill my needs nicely.

Here's mine:
Heavy/Medium-Heavy: Arsenal Agressive. Little scotchbrite will help it cover heavy
Medium: Xception
Mediums-Medium-Light: 2 Heats. One drilled strong, the other weak.

Here's mine-
Rule GP2 for any heavy/long pattern
Slash for medium/heavy patterns with some (15-18') backends
Xception for most mediums
Crunch Time for lighter mediums (if I increased speed)
I have to admit that I have better options on dry conditions, but Track products seem to carry better and hook more in the real heavy stuff for me. Excellent equipment!

Freak-A-Zoid - Med - Med/Heavy
Highly polished Rule - Med - Med/Light
Dry Heat - Light

In our area and in my collegiate tournaments there's not really a need for a top to bottom type arsenal, but more of a need for equipment that complements each other and that you can transition to and from since we hardly see the extremes. In a case of 4 balls I'd go with
Med-Heavy(fresh): Slash(4x4 w x/hole)
Med/Heavy w/Carrydown(transition ball): Arsenal Aggressive(4x2 w/ x-hole)
Med-Light: Polished Slash(5 1/2 x 5 no xh)
Med-Light transition ball: Heat Remake(5 x 4 w/ x-hole inside VAL to smoothen out the breakpoint)

Here's what I would take:
Heavy - GP2
Medium/Heavy - Aggressive
Medium - Angular
Dry- Heat
Never really like the reaction out of my Xception. Love my Reaction I get from my Angular.

If I had to choose
Track Assassin
Track VooDoo
Track Xception
Track Slash

Who throws a better ball a Stroker or a CrankR?
The one who knocks all 10down on the 1st ball
-
At this moment I would have to say;
GP2
Phenom
FAZ
Crunch Time
Haven't drilled my Heat yet. It will probably take the place of my Crunch Time.
-
This will sound silly, but I think it would work pretty well!:
Heavy: Slash @ 400-grit
Medium/Heavy: Slash OOB
Medium: Slash with Magic Shine
Light: Slash with Clean N' Polish or Delayed Reaction
What I would want would be:
Heavy: GP2
Medium/Heavy: Rule
Medium: Xception
Light: Heat
What I have:
Heavy: Animal
Medium/Heavy: Rule
Medium: Freak-A-Zoid (or Rule with Clean N' Polish)
Light: NONE

An all Slash arsenal....yummy!
I just got a fully plugged Critical Mass in mint condition. I can't wait to drill that baby up, it's one of my all time favorites. I love my Slash so much in oil, I want to get another and go 5 1/2 pin to PAP and a nice coat of Ebonite Factory Finish Polish(what would be the track product equivalent?) to get me through the start of most league conditions.

DP3:
It's been a long time since I used Ebonite's Factory Finish, but I would say Magic Shine would be the closest. I like MS a little better because it keeps the agressiveness of the ball intact.

I would have:
Gp2 for heavy long oil
Rule medium
Xception med broken in
hexplosion heavily polished dry
-
short pattern/squeaky clean backend - xception
flood - animal @ 200 grit
carrydown - ez money @ 400 grit
and a spare ball.

If I had to choose
Track Assassin
Track VooDoo
Track Xception
Track Slash
SuperHitMan, You won't get far with the Assassin in oil. I believe most people will agree with me on the GP2 or the Arsenal Aggressive as being much better choices.

Whoa!!!! Now I own a 122 game and a 456 series bowled with a Brunswick Impulse Zone.

-
Heavy: Mutant
Med-Heavy: Slash
Medium: Revmaster
Dry: Dry Heat or Heat(remake)

Slash

I am going to hijack this thread a bit...
I am creating a Track ABC/USBC/Team USA arsenal...4 balls..
Here is what I have...:-))))))
Slash....3 3/8 X 5..box condition..(for the longer patterns..)
Exception...5 X 4...(pin centered over bridge - MB inch right of thumb)
Heat....(haven't drilled yet)
Hexplosion...(haven't drilled yet)
Thinking:
Heat....4 x 4...control type ball
Hexplosion 5 X 3 or so...something long with arc on the dry stuff..(like Team USA short pattern..)
Have a Sheer Havoc that isn't punch that may go in this somewhere....
What do you think??
Mike

All this can be yours............
