Thinking of giving Track a try....benchmark, medium oil ball?

I have medium speed and fairly low revs, so something that revs up nice usually works well.  I like to play up the 10 board or further outside, though I can play deeper if need be.  From what I can tell at first glance, the Slash is the "benchmark" medium oil Track ball?

Definately the Slash. Depending on the lane conditions, you may have to adjust the surface a bit, it comes 1500 grit OOB, and you may end up needing  to put a higher grit on it so it can be used that close to the oil line.

I'm sort of in a transitional phase of my game, and just learning about the old "over under."  I do get that quite a bit.  Move a little right, send it through the nose or brookly, move a little left, watch it skid and skid and skid.  I know this is supposed to be a post about equipment, but how do I combat that?  Take a different line entirely?

It is really difficult to say without actually seeing you bowl. The goal when you bowl should be to create the largest margin for error that you can. If you have that problem of skid skid skid when you  move your line inside a bit, then the Slash may be good with its OOB surface.

Sounds right Ex. What you are describing is the type of reaction I get from a pearl or reactive ball. Get it inside (or hit some oil) and the way I throw, ball goes forever, get it wide (or in some dry) and adios! Particle smooths the reaction out for me with a predictable breakpoint. Try the Slash out of box and see what happens.

the Freakazoid would work. I have found the Slash to be a better benchmark ball than any other ball right now. It is not as "flippy" as the FaZ can be, and it is smoother throughout the lane. Atleast this has been my observation.

I would have to say about the same as the other guys here, the Slash is your best bet and the FAZ will laso work... I think that a slightly sanded heat would work also

Hey splendor,

I'd also recommend the Slash here.  Depending on your speed to rev ratio, you can drill it for more control if you have a fair amount of hook.  If your overall hook is medium-ish, then you can go a little stronger with the layout.  Hope this helps some...

Add another nod to the Slash being a great ball to even out over/under conditions. Many times when I've struggled to get that stable reaction I desire, I pull this ball out and I'm back in the game. Let us know how things go if you decide to get this ball- it's been a permanent fixture in my main bag for the past 5 months, house shots and sport shots have been no issue with the Slash in my hands.

There are many balls in the lineup that can be tweaked to be that benchmark ball. Xception 5.0 for instance would be a good benchmark ball with the proper surface prep, same for the Arsenal Aggressive, Xception and maybe even the Heat. The Slash is the best for this duty in my opinion though.

I would have to say my Rule is a very versatile ball for me. It's a good "control ball" for me, as the reaction is very smooth. I can use it on a wide range of conditions, with surface adjustments here and there. I just put a little polish on it this morning, because I haven't been seeing the volume of oil I had been. I don't see much Track equipment over here (Okinawa), and can't comment on the Slash. I have Animal, Rule, X5.0 in the Track line so far. (I just need more money!!!)
