Is this product the best thing to clean your balls with?  I've used 409 in the past, but have been told that this stuff is better.

And, is Power Wash good for all cover stocks (i.e. Track, Columbia, Brunswick, etc.)?

Hi Carl and Clint,

Thx for the replies.

I read somewhere (prob from Clint) that Clean and Dull and Clean and Tacky are similar?  Can you elaborate?  Buddies Pro Shop said that the dull, dulls the ball, and the tacky leaves it tacky without dulling it.  Can you confirm?

Also, I assume that I should use Power Wash after each set, and use CND or CNT once a month, or as needed.

Not true and I can't believe Buddies told you that. Could you have maybe misunderstood what they said?

IF Buddies said that word for word, they are wrong. Clean n Dull does not change the surface of the ball.

Not to throw anyone under the bus, but here is the reponse that I got when I emailed them asking the difference between cnd and cnt:

Yes.  The Clean and Dull, is made to leave the ball with a dull finish.
Tacky is designed to make the ball tacky again.

Thanks,

My goal is to get everyone on the same page.  I buy all of my equipment from Buddies, and wouldn't change.  But, I'm getting different answers.  Are they different or not?  I'm thinking that I should buy them both and experiment on my own.

thx...

I have been told over and over, and we repeat on here over and over, Clean n Dull's name is misleading...it does not dull the ball. It does not change the surface. See if Ten or Carl or someone else on staff chimes in and agrees here...

Clean N Tacky (formerly Clean N Dull) does not dull the cover.  What you see is lane oil that 'shines' the ball get removed.  There's no grit present in the cleaner (it's gel-like) therefore non-abrasive.  One thing it does very well is provide a tacky surface (best applied with spinner).

Clean n dull will not dull a ball on its own, only when used with some kind of abrasive.

Also i am no where near being on any ball companies staff. ALthough I would like to be I am not. However ever since I first used clean N Dull I seen a great product. I have also like carl used many cleaners. I even use to use rubbing alcohol, and stuff like Mr. Clean way back when. Yet ever since I started using specific cleaners I have gotten a lot more life out of my equipment.

Not to jump on people but if I remember correctly from what carls says, the type of staffers that clint and carl and rick are, comes with a ball limit a year. I think it is something line one of every new release the spare ball and maybe 1-3 extra balls of choice. Now I may be wrong but if I am right sounds like to me that clint still had to pay for the many many robos.

Now another thing is how much you pay for cleaner. Sure it can get expensive but a bottle of CND says it can clean 100 balls with the big bottle. I for a while to get longer life was taking a small spray bottle and putting about 1/3 CND and then 2/3 water. This sure as heck gave me more clean and dull and I used it after a week or so after a clean with powerwash. I have had this big bottle of CND for almost a year. All in all don't use something that wasn't made to clean a urethane/resin based surface. The chemical process used to create the coverstock is studied by the guys who make ball cleaner and it is then made safe to not harm a ball. I mean some of the household cleaners contain stuff that may even be banded like acetone.
