Post why you like Track so much...
« on: January 03, 2007, 03:21:20 PM »
There are a couple of reasons why I've chosen to sell all my other equipment (Hammer, Brunswick, Columbia, Storm) to stick with Track.

I like how they don't have a whole bunch of lineups that overlap each other (i.e. Brunswick)  It seems like they make a specific ball, for a specific reaction different from any other ball in their lineup, unlike the Brunswick line where you can basically get the same thing if you stuck with the BVP, Zone, or Inferno line, only different price ranges.

I love the hitting power.  For some reason, Track has hit harder than any other I've tried.  The Widow and Action Max that I've owned shocked me when I first threw them, but when I threw the Mean Machine and Power Machine, that was a whole new level of shock.

I like how their ball reactions aren't suited for "Go long, snap hard" (Storm) or "Early Rolly" (Brunswick) but rather, more overall depending on the ball you get.  If you want something to go long, the Equation/Eqn2 or Power Machine will fit the bill.  If you want something earlier, the Mean Machine or Inertia are there to save.

The coverstocks are way durable.  My Hammers and Storms all seem to get a little more beat up, requiring more attention and maintenance, and my Agent even died on me after 20-30 games.  My Tracks havent lost any type of reaction since I've drilled them up.

To end this, I'm certainly open to other brands.  Storm comes in at a close second with Hammer trailing not to far behind.  But overall, Track has impressed me the most.  How bout you guys?

Why do I like Track so much? Their lineup of equipment seems to offer the different reactions I need with the different types of lane surfaces and oiling I see in league/tournament action. For sport conditions I love the Rule, Animal, Slash, RoboRule and Solution Power Plus Ex. My Mean Machine has been just the right combination of coverstock and power I need in my Wednesday night singles league on older synthetics. The Equation is a great skid/snap piece when I need that reaction on certain house shots and tournament conditions. The Havoc has been a benchmark piece that I pull out when I need to see what the lanes are like, especially helpful for new houses that I'm bowling at for the first time.

Plus the staff at Track on this board have been top notch in helping me decide new purchases and layouts based on my game. They take the time to assess what information I provide and try to come up with what they believe would be good looks that I need in my bag.

That's why I think there will always be a place in my bag for a lot of Track equipment.

Track's lineup of equipment seems to offer the reactions I need/want with the different conditions.

Probably the BEST reason is "CARL HURD", as he is the one to get me started with Track, and also Rick, with all his help and insight.

The reason I use track is mostly because of the long life the coverstocks offer. I know they are columbia covers and that match with the tech. track has gives me the best reaction and hit. Most companys covers just dont last long in my hands. I tryed a blueberry buzzsaw and well the cover lasted me just over 9 games before it stop working and need a resurface job. Most of you guys know what I am doing with roto and my track stuff right now. The roto grip ball I have right now that I have been a little more into using has a great reaction but the cover had 15 games on it and i had to resurface it tuesday night after league. Carl was there he seen it, it was pretty nasty looking. This is mainly why I use track the tech. they have in the ball with the life of the covers is a must for me. (Yet I am still waiting for a rerelease of the animal and a version of it in a reactive).

The coverstocks are GREAT !!!

Your statement about other companies coverstocks bother me. There is some thing wrong, if you had a Blueberry and problems after "9" games, and then after "15" with the Roto. Not sure but it sure is a coincidence.

I have had numerous Lane 1 balls with never a problem on the coverstocks, also a couple of Roto's with no problems.

With me being a rev dom player where my rev rate dominates my speed by probly 3 fold, my revs just kill coverstocks. No matter what the ball I need resurfacing after maybe 30-35 games. I also bowl alot and the amount of games on a ball gets up there pretty high. The only ball I have ever owned that I didnt have to resurface was my GP2 but that was because of it never seeing a game.

The reason i like track, well i shot my 299 with one of theirs, i've had many 279's with their balls, high scores and versatility are the reason i use them but i am willing to try others, there's a columbia billy i'm gunna buy and try out but i'll be sticking mostly with track

Brunswick doesnt come out with a bunch of bowling balls all the time like some companies, they make wise moves with there bowling balls. Each ball they make is for a specific purpouse in there lineup, and i seem to remember untill about 6 months ago Track came out with a good amount of bowling balls (though not more then a Storm or an Ebonite).

Well it all started with the Phenom Unleashed I wanted something for longer/heavier patterns that wasn't the typical early rolling arc that most balls designed for these conditions are. After reading some reviews and seeing a couple in action I decided to give it/Track a try.
I found it to be more versatile and forgiving than the other balls that I had tried at that point for heavier/longer volumes of oil. I then decided to try the Rule and put what is a control drill for me on it and see if it would roll and hit as well as the PU did for me. I must say I was just as pleased with it and from that point on I decided why change to anyone else's equipment since I was getting what I was looking for from Track's offerings.
Being able to get solid and unbiased information about new releases on this board has a major influence also.

Lets do a comparison of the last 6 months Track to Brunswick:

Track: Mean Machine, Equation , Inertia, Power Machine

Brunswick: Radical, Total, Mammoth, Wizard, Red Zone.

This is not to mention the fact that the number of balls in Brunswick's current lineup easily outweigh the number in Track's.

You can easily make an arsenal out of any line that Brunswick offers, which leads to overlap.  Track's entire lineup IS an arsenal, very little overlap in their line.

Read correctly please i said untill about 6 months ago, NOT now. Untill recently they came out with a great amount of bowling balls, dont ask me why they havent been producing too many lately, i dont have an answer for that one. But MAYBE because of all the lay offs, and by the way im not saying they dont produce good bowling balls (though they dont match up with me) but Brunswick makes good decisions on bowling balls and there lineup is very complete and well rounded.

Great decisions??? Yeah moving to Mexico would fall into that catagory??  Please, personally I'll never buy a Brunswick ball ever again.

Well ihn there eyes it was a great decision maybe not in ours, they get a great plant to make new balls and its cheaper i dont support that they move to mexico but i love there stuff to much to boycott them. Thats besides the point were talking about the products, they may be made in mexico but theyre still great products.

I like Track because of the great balls they make (or Columbia makes, whatever) My first Track ball was the Solution PPEX, and that ball was just awesome.. i loved its hitting power and hook potential so much. So i looked into the Track stuff because i never heard of Track because my pro shop sucks and doesn't recommend anything other than Brunswick. So as i looked into them, i started reading about them also. I pretty much fell in love with some of the reviews i read, so i had to buy my first Track ball (the Solution was given to me).. So i buy my first Track ball.. the Mean Machine! That ball hit even harder than the Solution, and it hooked a little to hard, but i still liked it! After that i bought the Inertia (liked it), Desert Heat (like it a lot), Power Machine (very good ball), and Equation (best ball i have).. all of them have matched up very well for me, and so for that reason is why i stick to Track. I love their stuff, and they match up very well for me.. today my Equation gave me my new high series as well, so i can pretty much say i love that ball now. I hope this is a good explanation of why i love Track so much!
