Power Machine Is All That!
« on: October 31, 2006, 12:12:47 PM »
hey tracksters, just got done bowling and the Power Machine
was thrown tonight by a Track Staffer.  i liked the colors and
the ball is a monster.  He went 244 the first game, finishing
with the last five.  second game went 12 in a row, and his third
he started with the first 4 before we left.  the wife and kid
were getting tired....DAMMNNNIT!  that ball was sweet looking going
down the lane.  got through the heads well with a bit of midlane
before it charged hard to the pocket.  great pin action.  all this
coming from a guy who the last 4 weeks has been throwing an Inertia and
averaging 230 with it with an 813 set last week.  i know people say
hammer is putting out some good stuff, but i think Track is right
there with them if not above them. im gonna have to get one of these.

and as a side not, my little 620 set with the Xception 5.0 was clean
all three games.(first time clean in a loooonggg while) I might have
to sell what i have to switch to Track!

Pretty impressed with the Power Machine when I practiced with it. It definitely has a different look as it rolls down the alley.  Most have commented "A thing of beauty".  Oh! did I mention, it moves on the backend and hits very hard.

All the Machines, and the Inertia are a cut above.  Track is right on with these releases.

that machine is just simply awesome.  he doesnt have massive hand
in the ball just moderate & smooth(he does come around it though),
and that ball had a monster turn on the back.  his drill looked
something like this. and he's a righty!

--*----
---0-0-
-------
----0--
-----#-

*=pin
#=MB

the mass bias may have been a little more right but thats his drill.
his Inertia was the same drill but the pin was right above the middle
finger. I had him drill my 5.0 that way, but I have a high track and
the ball flared over the holes and the ball hooked very little, but if
i slowed the speed a bit and came around the ball instead of through it
it screamed left.  so needless to say that drill on the 5.0 didnt suit me.
so i got it plugged and went with pin above ring finger.

very true!  i just got back into bowling 4 months ago after a 6 year
layoff.  so i have been trying to be clean as much as possible, and
hoping good scores come with it.  im just trying to understand all
this pin, MB, RG, Diff., and crap!  maybe if i understood it more
i would be able to try to find the right equipment for myself.  but
learning it all over again is the fun part of it, along with the bowling!

I know there are some that say the cg doesn't matter where it is, but could you tell me where it was? I have a nib PM and I am trying to figure out how to drill it.

Thanks
Shipper

i am not too sure on the CG, cause when i was talking to him
i was like, whoa the pin is more left?  how the hell do you get
it to hook?...lol.  i dont know but that ball was a monster to him.
i will see him saturday, or maybe tomorrow, so i will ask and find out.

Hmmm....honestly, the Equation and Power are both pearl reactives, but they are different covers (Goo and Vector) but both made to skid flip....while the PM would be stronger, they would almost mirror each other....if you were to get the Equation, I would look at the Mean or the Inertia as a compliment.

I see absolutely no overlap in the Equation and the Power Machine. The Power Machine without question hooks more in the midlane and is every bit as strong as the Equation at the corner. I liked my Equation alot, but I love my power machine!
