yeah i would try surface preps. sanded it will make it more acceptable to heavier oil, but polishing will let it handle medium. You know this ball is made for heavy oil right? Could of been any number of things, hell, it may of been you not throwing right.. just test some things out..

FIRST......clean the ball very well.

You do not want to alter the surface much if you don't have to.

Get some of Track's Clean n Dull or Clean n Tacky........and a white scotchbrite pad.

Put a decent amount (roughly the size of a quarter) of cleaner onto the scotchbrite and wipe half of the ball in small circular motions. APPLY VERY LITTE PRESSURE. Allow the cleaner to sit on the ball for roughly 20 seconds then wipe it off with a dry towel. Do the same to the other half of the ball.

Once you are all done just spray water on the ball and wipe it off.

It works like a charm.

Goodluck,
Carl

I clean my equipment before and after i bowl. The thing i got in mind is to take it to the pro shop and put it in the Rejuvenator and see wat that does before i change the surface. Thats wat im thinking but wanted to see yalls input!!!

How are each of them drilled and what is the surface prep on them.
I suspect that either the drill of the Rule doesn't match your style or it is using up too much energy getting to the break point. The RevLever core is a high torque core so it resists roll out more than most. The down side to a core with this much torque is that it makes it harder to tell that it is loosing energy too quickly to have a good reaction. I went through the same thing with mine at one of the houses I bowl at. I took the surface down a bit and it only got worse so I took it back to box and added some Magic Shine and it really came to life.

rejuvenating the ball can cause wayy to many cracks - i wouldn't advise you to do that bro. My buddy Chip, just did that to his sanded killer instinct, and got a crack through the fingers and all the way down to the thumb from the rejuvenator.

I highly suggest cleaning it the way I mentioned. It deep cleans the ball. It pulls dirt and oil out of the surface.

Hey Guys,

Willie is talking about the Rule I sold him. The ball is drilled Pin Below the Ring Finger with the Mass Bias at 5 o'clock. This is the second problem I've experienced as the same thing happened to the other Rule I sold my friend Jared. This ball stopped hooking for him as well. We did numerous amount of surface preps and experiments and nothing was changed. Willie, when I had the thumb re plugged for the switch grip insert, they had to sand the plug to make sure it was smooth before drilling. It probably altered the surface. This is why I hate altering surfaces because each and everytime I've done this I have had a bad experience with it. Anyways, that is the deal and if anyone can help him with it, any advice would be greatly appreciated! If you asked me Willie, I would try the rejuvinator. It couldn't hurt, either that or what Carl suggested. I did that to my first Robo Rule and that ball is still an absolute pocket killer when Dain throws it! God Bless You All and have a great week!
