Suggestions Needed - Mean Machine Drilling
« on: September 29, 2006, 02:28:34 PM »
I got my free ball from Track, a Mean Machine, but while I requested pin 2-3", I received one 4-4.5" and would like some help in determining how to have it drilled.  I have had balls with pins 4" or more before but never had any luck with them, that's why I usually look for 2-3" pins.

I am a RH slower speed, low track stroker, PAP 4-3/8 right and 5/8 up.

Thanks.

What are you looking for the ball to do? I personally drilled mine up (close specs) pin above ring finger and mb 1" right of my thumb...EXCELLENT roll!!!

Gary,

Be very careful with that long pin because of your low speed and low track. That adds up to a lot of lope and lots of potential flippiness on lesser oil. The MM is meant for oil; it should be useful for lots of oil for you.

I'd kick the MB out towards your PAP; I"m inclined to say put it on the VAL itself.

Charlest,

Thanks, you confirm what I have experienced in the past with long pins.  Usually I get too much length from them and end up getting rid of them.  I dont know what they would have done on drier lanes since I am usually bowling on fresh THS.
