The original Rule has Goo reactive cover, and the GP2 has Goo 2 Particle. The GP2 will pick up sooner than the original Rule due to how aggressive the cover on the GP2 is, no matter what you sand the original Rule to. Plus, the original Rule was not meant for a TON of oil, its more of a ball on the heavier side of medium conditions.

If you have any more questions, just ask!

Danny...
My Rule is sanded to 800 grit and my GP2 is scuffed with gray scotch pad. I will try to answer your question this way. If the lanes are lets say medium to heavy oil,and clean backends. I can play down and end with the Rule because with my drilling this is what the Rule likes best. But the Rule because of the coverstock will lots of times go by the break point if I get a bit to fast with my ball speed. The Rule is a lot more sensitive on oil. My GP2 is drilled close to my Rule except the MB is in a stronger position to the right of the thumb.
If I line up with my GP2 on the same shot I have to open up with my shoulders because this ball is not going to slide by the break point, it is going for the hole. If I was to go from the Rule to the GP2 it would be an automatic move to a deeper line inside. There is just that much difference in the coverstocks. I hope this sheds some light on your question.

Danny,

In a word to answer your question, "No".

The Rule is below the GP2 in total hook. My GP2 at 800 and my Rule at 800...the GP2 moves earlier.....and stronger throughout the lane. The stronger drilled GP2s move much much more.

Hey Danny,

I agree with the guys here, the GP2 is by far a stronger ball and compliments the Rule well.
