Question on resurfaced Xception
« on: May 05, 2005, 01:05:46 AM »
Just had the ball resurfaced. Looks great but the ball doesn't move. The ball looks like out of the box with a light polish. If they put polish on it will it come off soon? The big question is how do I get this back to the "out of the box" condition? Any help would be great. I know the ball won't react like out of the box but right now it is only good for 7 pins.

There is only 1 way to hit the hole and that is long and hard and always from the left.

Factory finish is compound. Try sanding to 800 or 1000 grit, then
finish with track clean and sheen compound on a spinner. Resurfaced
mine with it and it works like out of box, hell of a ball!

LTBPRO 1 hit it perfectly. They do not use polish on the Xception OOB. They use Clean n Sheen.

I also agree with LTBPRO.  If by chance it is still a little long, take the cover back to 600 and then apply Clean and Sheen.

A good forum attracts good people, welcome to the Track forum Jason.

I haven't tried Storm polishes on the spinner.  Track's Clean N' Polish leaves an incredible mirror-like shine, and Magic Shine makes the ball SUPER tacky.  My friend's Reacta Clean and Reacta Shine are decent by hand (although not as great as Simple Green, CLean N' Smooth, Magic Shine, and Clean N' Polish).

Clean N' Polish gave me A LOT more length and a weaker backend reaction.  If this is the polish on your Xception, it might be the reason for the much weaker reaction (if any reaction at all).  Magic Shine works great for me.  I'm really amazed at how tacky the ball is after applying Magic Shine, but even Magic Shine might be making the ball go too long.  I haven't tried Clean N' Sheen yet, but Clean N' Smooth works very well when I want the ball to pick up earlier.
