It sounds like a great ball. Particle solid polished, sounds like a really smooth ball, yet strong. I'm thinking of getting one, and getting a basic label drilling on the ball, due to my slow speed (15mph) and higher rev rate. I'm told the basic label drill will promote skid, yet give a decent backend since it saves energy longer. Is this a good ball for this drilling? I pretty much bowl on med conditions, almost THS.

Normally on mass bias balls you don't do a "basic label" drill. That places the MB (even though this ball does not have a high mass bias, it is still significant) on the track side of the thumb hole and too close to the track. This reduces the backend. Maybe, based on your release specs (PAP, tilt, rotation, ball speed) ,you might be able to use the MB slightly on the track side of the thumb hole, if your revrate to ball speed ratio is high enough.

Wait for some of the Track gurus to show up, possibly tonight, possibly tomorrow (it's Saturday night, after all) for a more detailed explanation and further assistance.

This ball rolls incredible. Mine is punched up with a 4 1/2 pin and the MB at 3 1/2 from my axis. The Pin is located under my ring finger.

This ball gets down the lane with ease, however, it really revs hard in the midlane due to the layout and the core. The ball does not flip over, but when it makes it's turn it keeps going and does not stop through the pins. I drilled this ball primarily for longer oil patterns or shorter patterns with heavier oil in the pattern.

It works great for these patterns. It is way to much ball for the medium or light conditions with this drill pattern. I think a little weaker drill pattern would work fine on the medium and possible medium/light with some magic shine.

The Inertia is a monster on a house shot. I am not sure about placing the MB left of thumb though (this is what is meant by basic drill?). The OOB finish on the Inertia is meant for very good length.....personally if you want to stay somewhat "basic" on the layout I would say to place the MB just right of thumb. This will make it turn over pretty good. Being rev dominant this layout will still work very well for you.

Thanks for the info. Hmmm, someone else told me not to put the mb on the track b/c it's an asymmetrical core (however little it is). Maybe putting the mb directly below my thumb (I have a small span) or just to the right, w/cg in palm. Will that still have a strong recovery?

i recpmmend you check out some video on some of these Track bowling balls. Check out SteveAustin2808 video's that how i got my first Track ball(machine).

Hey VA,

Our Inertia is a smoother rolling ball. I drilled mine at 3.5x7mb which is close to your original thoughts of "label". I purposely placed my mass bias further away and left of thumb to hold the ball back from hooking too much. I also am about 14-15 mph and rev dominant. Here's a couple of videos for you to see what the ball offers me with this pattern...

Hey VA,

Sorry, I put up the wrong vid orignally. I have corrected it now. These vids are done on a drier THS with OB outside 5. Between 5-10 is a fair amount of free hook. The ball reads very well and typically where I would jump on the backend, this ball with "this" layout just gradually moves into the pins.

I actually play 3 different lines on the first vid to help people see where their game fits in and what it would do for them. Hope this helps and let me know if I can be of any further assistance to you, thanks.
