So what is the 607A SE?
« on: July 10, 2010, 03:44:19 PM »
Is this ball a Solid or a Pearl? I just purchased one today and drilled it straight up with the pin above the ring finger, cg kicked out, and mass bias is next to thr thumb. The reaction i saw was more of a hook set roll type but the ball makes a mean turn on the backend. I did however change the finish to just plain 2000 because every ball ive thrown, I simply didnt like the OOB finish. When the lanes open up, its a dayum monster. Hope to throw it tom to see how the ball will react with 2000 finish.

Where did you buy it?
Just curious because its not released yet.
Unless it was a seed ball or Gold Pro Shop?

I do not get a hook set type reaction with mine but i do love the reaction in its OOB form. Did you throw it OOB prior to sanding it?

I think this bals motion is different enough to really fit alot of peoples games and a pretty wide variety of patterns.

Well my pro shop guy is a Track Staffer and he already had 2 in his shop. The reaction is great and I''ve already thrown the ball in OOB. What I see is the ball hooks, stops almost like a rollout and then once it hits friction it takes off and rolls threw the pocket. I bowled on a rough pair of lanes yesterday, I guess a kids throwing plastic everywhere, and got over under hell with it. Then bowled the 40 frame game and once the lanes opened up, I was lofting gutter cap with this ball. I just took the polish off to help the ball blend on the pattern where I bowl at and plus I like my balls at 2000.

On the website when it describes the cover, it works its way up from 500 - 4k + polish. Is it possible to expect a big change in reaction from starting off at 4k then adding polish, than from working up from 500? In the reaction downlane, is it a more arcing or angular at the breakpoint? I love my 505c and thinking about getting the 7 series and was curious how this new piece fits in between them?
thanks for the info in advance...

Its definitely an Angular reaction type! Its awesome because the modified legion core seems to read the lane a bit earlier in the mids but still pop on the backend. For me its not as skid snap as a 505A but definitely a flip motion, fits perfectly between my 505's and 715C's. So far I love the reaction. I am drilling another one in a week or so when I get some more time.

Well Mr Ray I got a chance to bowl with 607A at 2000. Its a freakin beast. The surface change took care of the over/under reaction I was getting from the OOB finish. It read a little more early but man that backend is very strong. I'm really liking this ball as this is my First Track Ball i've ever thrown. Now, is this ball a solid or a pearl? it dont react like a pearl to me lol!!

Mr. Hunt

My teammate is a staff player and he said he wasn''t allowed to sell any of his equipment.  How is your pro shop guy on staff getting to sell his equipment and how can he sell them before the release date?

As a staff player and pro shop owner I will say that you do get seed balls that you can sell or giveaway or drill yourself to help promote a balls sale.
I believe those participating in the Pro Shop programs for various companies get some balls early prior to release dates and also get seed balls based on the amount of volume a shop may sell.

If he is found to be selling staff balls I''m sure based on past experiences(not mine) he will be dealt with harshly by the powers that be.

Im not really sure if the ball is a seed ball or not. I went to the pro shop saturday and asked about when the 607A was suppose to be out and he told me he had two that he received early. I asked if I could buy one and got the ball the same day. I wasnt aware of the release date of the ball until a day ago. I know he has one already drilled for him but he receive a few quite balls early. That's all I know.  Sorry if I did anything wrong.

When we receive Seed balls we always drill them for ourselves, use them in the center, and place them on the shelf to promote/show them when not being used. This helps create interest and we often get Pre-Orders. Rarely will we sell these balls. We feel the need to promote these bowling balls for the Manufacturers, that is why certain shops are receiving them. I personally wouldn't opt to sell one before the release date, but don't see anything wrong with it. Hope you are enjoying your 607A SE.

I am really enjoying this new ball. Everytime I throw this ball, I just say DAYUMMMMMMMM!!! This is one special ball. I am able to play really deep with this rock and I MEAN DEEP. I shot 718 and 675  with this ball with a 279 and 277 game so far. The backend is very impressive. It seems like the ball just hooks, skids, STOPs, and then flips like crazy. I''''ve seen some crazy splits  but the 607 hits very hard and carries very well. Bowlers really need to look into purchasing this ball because I think it mit be the ultimate league ball.
