Results From Chameleon Pattern
« on: June 07, 2005, 01:39:19 PM »
First of all I want to thank all the guys that left notes on my thread trying to give me advice, it is greatly appreciated and I do listen to everything that is said. With that, here are the results from my six game block pba pattern league.

206, 178, 219, 237, 180, 233
Overall: 1253
+/- = + 53
Average: 208.83

Out of the four weeks I've bowled in this league this has been my best performance. The closest guy to me average 189.83.

Reaction and Balls Used:

Practiced mostly with the Slash and Crash. I just got the Crash last night (Monday). We drilled it with a 4 1/2" pin and had to punch a tiny weight hole in it. I will be doing a review in the review forum soon enough.

First game I started off with the Slash. The Crash just had a lot of over/under on the shot being fresh. I had great recovery and read with the Slash though. The second game was the poor one of the night. 2 splits in the later frames hurt me as I was working a pretty decent 190 + game until they came along. The third game I notice the Slash/Crash combination just wasn't reading great. The Slash would not recover and the first three frames saw the "bucket" twice. I pulled out an old friend in the Phenom Unleashed and started whacking the  pocket! I had an excellent Game 5 going with the Crash but I got stupid and missed a 6 pin and 7 pin spare shots. Thus, the 180 game. 4th and 6th games were all about the Crash. Playing 11-9 and being very firm I had alot of great pocket shots. Actually had the first 5 which I honestly couldn't believe on a condition such as this.

On a last note, I played the 11-9 line for the most of the six games bowled. I found great success in the Symmetric stuff Track offers! Heading into next week...SHARK PATTERN! I will be posting a thread on that asking for your advice once again, so until next time...Thanks to everybody and God Bless You All!

Michael,

NICE shooting!!!

I do agree with your comment about Track's symmetrical equipment. I don't think they get the credit they deserve for what they put into those balls.

Addik

My span is 4 1/2 X 4 5/8.
WHAT?
I believe my PAP (not certain) is 5 X 1/2 (if that makes any sense).
WHAT?
Rev rate is about somewhere between a tweener and the one above that level, just in between those two.
WHAT?
Last time we checked my revs, my pro shop guy said if he calcuated it right, it was somewhere between 340-380.
WHAT?
I'm familiar with my span and what certain layouts work great for me.
WHAT?
Not all that sure about my PAP and REV rate. I'll double-check w/ my pro shop guy and let you know addik!

Yeah, I heard about it.

Did any of those numbers with REVs and the PAP make any sense to you? If so, maybe you can explain what they mean. I'm just taking a guess at what I was told last time we checked. Thanks for reading my thread again!

LOL! I'm not sure if this is what you want:
quote:

but I got bored of math homework, so I did this anyways!

Symmetric cored ball:
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wOTYwNjY1NnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg

Asymmetric cored ball:
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wOTYwNjY0NnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg

Medium Track is generally 4 1/2" to 5 1/4" so he's a medium tracker.

Depending on the height of the pin above your midline, the ball will either rev up earlier and be smoother (if pin is close to midline) or rev up later and be more angular (if pin is further up from midline).  The Crash does have a reactive pearl cover so by nature it goes longer and retains more energy for the breakpoint.

Your revrate being 340-380 is in revolutions per minute. That means in one minute, you can make the ball revolve on its axis 340 to 380 times. Revrate is generally associated with style of play. 400+ rpm's is generally a cranker, and less than 250 rpm's is a stroker. You fall between the two (but you are closer to a cranker status) so you are a tweener!

...Good news boys...I didn't spill my beer!

....and then back to homework.
