It's buyin' time again
« on: April 14, 2005, 12:08:58 PM »
Our wonderful TRACK distributor out here in Aussieland is having a blowout and i got my beady little eyes on a PHENOM UNLEASHED!!!, ok my stats are PAP 5 5/8 over 0 up/down, medium speed power tweener(hope that made sense!!), thinking of pin either just over or under the ring finger, just not sure wether to go arc or forward roll with the MB position, will prob hit the shell with magic shine. Normal shot i like to play is laying it down around 25 then out to 10 and back.

ps
2nd question, is magic shine OK for polishing up an EMB pearl or will it 'kill' the reaction?

Adrian,

If you want to cover that many boards the closer you get the MB to the thumb the better off you will be with recovery down the lane. So I would say between MB position 2 and 3.

Magic Shine should be fine for an EMB Pearl----it will just enhance its backend reaction.

Sounds like one of those 10.30 drills i like (but have shied away from, might even have to change my old Heat back to that from stack leverage!) Not sure how much use i'd have for it in my home centre, especially with a Green RevolutionIST still waiting to get punched up, all the midrange stuff like Crunch,Crunchtime,Darkside and HexPlosion is going cheap too and the Freakazoid isn't much more even at full price so i'll have to keep the thinking cap on a little more

ps
what do you think George, is the morphoeus core a little much for how i throw?

Hey Adrian,

Another thought for you since you guys "down under" usually describe having less oil to deal with.  Place the pin directly above bridge and mb about 3.5-4, then polish it.  This will help stabilize the backend and offer more of a strong arc vs it being too snappy.  I have this layout on one of mine and it just gives a very nice smooth and continuous arc motion throughout the lane, nothing jumpy at all.  Hope this helps some....

Pretty close to what i had in mind, very tempting to add another midranger too(since i dumped some worn out 'doorstops' to make room) could be a job for the new Heat or even something like a BVP Nemeisis(sorry i do stray sometimes!)
