There are some reviews of the S.E. on bowlingball.com

Saw one of these in person, the guy did not like and redrilled it and then traded for another ball.

I've watched one of these in person also and my buddy had the ENTIRE lane.  Then I watched him another time, and it squirted too much.  Then I watched him again and he had the ENTIRE lane again.  He still has it.

I still have the entire Rising line.  The Rising was so-so for me, whereas the UpRising and S.E. has been great.  With the layout I have on the UpRising, it shines when I encounter carry down.  The S.E. is great on a fresh shot and slight carrydown when I can still have the big angle to the pocket.

i got one for presidents shield (which is the highest level of competition for juniors down here in Australia), thinkin the shot that was going to get put down was a heavy volume, but i couldnt get to my driller in time so its still NIB.

hey X, how does your SE compare to the Uprising? is it much stronger overall. can it handle more oil than the up?

not much has been said about this ball (no video from britton) and no review column on this site.

at the moment i cant justify drilling mine up as my house THS (or what "the ditch") barely has enough oil to let me bowl my uprising (2000+) without burning up and my kinetic energy barely makes it through 2 games.

it was a shame to see the lines disappear the way it did, time to hunt down another kinetic energy (love that ball)

Based on the layouts I have on both, the UpR goes longer than the S.E., but the S.E. hooks harder and retains more energy than the UpRising.  Both have pin up drillings, but the S.E. has a 20* 20* layout where the UpR has a 60* 30*.

With the same layout, I'd give the S.E. the nod.  I liked the Rising series, but I'll miss the Kinetic series the most, especially the K.E.  With the layout I have on that one, it reads the midlane and backends harder than any piece I have.

With that said, I'm actually taking the layout on the K.E. and putting it on the S.E for the Heavy oil.  I will keep the skid/flip layout on the UpR for the medium/heavy or carry down.

X, the 505C has the shuttle core, the exact same core in the Kinetics, at a lower price point. I would suggest giving it a whirl and maybe using the same layout you have in the KE. See if you can mirror that motion the KE has but with less hook so you can get that same KE reaction when they fry a little more.

Very true, and that is what actually has me worried about this ball.  Granted, I know the coverstocks are different, but my K.E. (especially from what I've seen on the Scorpion and Chameleon lately) is extremely violent in the back.  With that same layout on the 505, that would be what I'd get on the light/dry.  however, the shop owner will have one tomorrow.  We have very similar spans and PAPs(I'm 4 1/4R and 1/4 down whereas he is 4 1/2R and 1/8 down).

I will see how it performs and make my decision then.

If the KE is too violent on medium to medium heavy, use the 505C in that situation. It will be the ball to use when you can't use the KE.
