Ball help please.

 I am debating on some new balls and am looking at various options, one that I'm considering is to get the Track Arsenal balls, both the Angular and the Aggression if I do what would be the most appropriate drill for them to utilise the natural strengths in each ball, or could I drill them the same (ie maybe pin under ring 45deg drill) and still get a different look and reaction.I bowl about 15mph med revs with about 45deg axis ( first oil ring of track is about 1 inch from thumb hole).Would I get good coverage of med-med/heavy oil with both good and poor backends.Sorry for the long Q but balls are not cheap over here and I need to get this right or it's a lot of money wasted.Thanks for any replies.

Your PAP would also help out.

The Aggressive and Angular in general are a great 1-2 punch. The Aggressive rolls early and is strong throughout the lane, while the Angular skates through the heads pretty easily and has a ton on the backend. The Aggressive would handle carrydown better (pearls skate for me and most of my customers on heavy oil and carrydown, making them unpredictable at the breakpoint). The Angular would be a great to go ball when the Aggressive is just picking up a roll a touch early.

You will cover almost everything other than HEAVY oil and DRY lanes....thus what the GP2/Robo and Desert Heats are for.

Thanks Clint, anyone else like to chime in also with drill suggestions,I'm looking to go with the pin under ring/bridge 45 deg, what reaction would this likely give me, sorry can't remember PAP.Thanks again.

Well, I think Clint hit it right on the head there... You will be lacking in the heavy oil and dry lane conditions, but you should be covered pretty well for league play.

The drilling you mentioned is going to have the ball rolling up early and strong. I personally HATE pin under drillings for the most part, unless I'm drilling up something for heavier conditions, but that's my own opinion for my own game.

I would suggest definitely going with the same drilling on both balls, as they are two different animals entirely and, as Clint said, should cover anything from Medium-Heavy to Medium-Light conditions. When you start messing with different drillings between the two, you start putting the balls either closer together or farther apart, and I personally think those two balls match up so well together that you souldn't need any more or less separation between the two.

Ratpack,

Personally I would drill them to their strengths. The layout you have mentioned (once again PAP location would help) would work well for the Aggressive. For the Angular I would Drill it with the pin above the fingers and let the ball do what it is really meant to do.....go longer and save energy for the backends.

Thanks guys,

EXCALIBER, would a drill of pin over ring and cg out an inch or two be what you are suggesting? what drill from the Track drill sheet on the website would give the best likeness.

One of my favourite old balls was the Triton Elite, how would these compare if at all?

Ratpack,
The Slash and the Two Solutions are essentially remakes of the Triton Elite core and coverstocks.  They have adjusted core densities a little bit to adjust the roll for the newer conditions(I have not done a side by side comparison of the numbers yet), but they are same shape and cover.  Check them out.  SOrry if this throws a wrench in your purchase plans.
