Robo Rule and Delta 1 pics and layouts
« on: November 22, 2005, 09:44:41 PM »

I drilled the Delta 1 with pin above the fingers, MB even and rt of the thumb. This required a very small weight hole which is on my PAP. In out of box condition, the Delta was to much ball. After a light hit of Magic Shine, it was good enough to get some length, but still had the strong backend reaction. I also put the pin above the fingers for some added length.

I drilled the Robo Rule with pin below the fingers. Personally for me, with particles balls, this layout works best. It helps me get the ball into a little earlier roll. The MB on this one is about 2" right and slightly below my thumb. This required a large weight hole, which is on my PAP. I only threw about 10 shots with the ROBO Rule after league. I have to say i'm very impressed. It got into a good early heavy roll, but still made a strong arc towards the pocket. I'll be getting some more use on this one come Sunday, and I'll update them.I'll post some more detailed reviews once I get a few more games on both balls!

I'll be working on getting a few vids up soon. Feel free to shoot me any questions!!

Hey Steve,

Got mine yesterday...will try and drill today.  Did you throw this OOB or was it also too much for you?  Thanks...

boy... that roborule is almost as ugly as the delta. LOL!!! but it seems like the uglier they are, the better they roll.

Rick,

I hit both balls with a light coat of Magic Shine. Just enough to tame them down a bit. I was really impressed with the Robo, it's strong, yet controllable!!

Jeffrevs,

I really didn't measure the pin to PAP distance, but on the Delta 1 is about 5" and on the Robo Rule I'd say about the same. The MB on the Delta is about 5" from my PAP, and on the Robo Rule it's about 4. I'll get exact measurements and update when I bowl sunday!

No offense...but how can you have balls drilled and not know what pin-to-pap distance you're going to use ?

i just know what layouts roll the best for me, and these 2 layouts are it. i have had great success with pin above and pin below the fingers, with the MB's in the rt of thumb location. I have never ever measured pin to PAP distance. Should I? It's possible i guess.

Awesome Steve! Thanks for the pics and info.
In regards to both balls.

How do they compare to each other?
I'm guessing the Delta is more aggressive on the backend while your Robo is a little bite more tame on the backend.

Thanks!
