I have to give credit where it is due. A couple of weeks ago I posted asking for help in deciding between a Rule and an Untamed. I said I thought my PAP was 5 over and 1/2 up and I had a low track - 2.75 inches from thumb. Excalibur immediately pointed out that a 5 over PAP seemed inconsistant with a very low track. Well, I had my PAP checked by a professional (that's another post) and it turns out I was off by a mile! My PAP is 4 over and 1.5 up! That really changes everything when it comes to laying out a ball for me. I live in a small town and while the bowling center here has an experienced ball driller, he is not certified and drilling is a side line - he's the lane man, the assistant manager, etc. So he does not attempt to determine any bowler's actual PAP. He still doubts the importance of it. Since I was asking Tenpinspro, Excalibur and others for drilling advice here I decided it's time to make sure about my PAP measurements. I drove 40 miles to a REAL proshop and got it done. Yes, it cost me a little more but now I know what my PAP is for future drillings. I want to thank everyone for their informational posts in these forums. Without them I would still be 'bowling blindfolded at midnight on a cloudy moonless night'.
