A couple of great Revolution members...
« on: April 12, 2006, 12:52:26 PM »
I'd like to personally thank Tweener92, TBrockett and Wayne for coming out to join me and my guys at the USBC Open in Corpus.  These guys are a class act (I use that term loosely) but we had a lot of fun and laughs being together.  Great group of guys, thanks again.

Tim, Tracy signed up with us already for next year in Reno...want some more self punishment?..LOL  You guys have an official Ten Pins shirt now so you're a marked man where ever you go... As you walk by people, don't be surprised to hear in whisper, "Look, look....He's one of them...."...ROTFLOL

Thanks Rick for the (tongue in cheek) kind words there! Seriously though, I had a blast with you guys and would be honored to bowl with you guys again next year baring my being deployed at that time. At any rate you can count me in and I'll hook up with Jim to take care of the paper work portion.

PS You are right! People are already laughing at me already! I told my buddy that I bowled with Ten Pins Pro Shop and he said "Hey that's the team with the bald headed Chinese guy right?" Apparently you and his 5 year old son were shopping for pants in the same isle or something like that.

MIDGETS UNITE!!!!

Rev-0,

I can't speak for anyone else, but it would be great to have you join us for Reno. Send a message to Rick and see what happens.

Steve, would love to have you join us. I'll send you a pm with Jim's (BR name bowl400) info and you can send a check to him.  We already booked 6 teams for 06-07 but we currently have 33 signed up so we're either going with the first 30 that pay or if we get to 35, we'll try and send in another entry.  Talk to you soon buddy...

I've got good friend FBM357 coming from New York to join us and I was going to ask Carl but he keeps stiffing me...lol

The great thing about bowling with someone shorter than me (Rick), is that I can use their bald head for a beer coaster.

Six,

For me, the best line I found was setting the ball down at 22-20 crossing the arrows at about 17 and using 8-10 as a break point. As for the transition, I was in virgin territory. At home, the oil moves and creates carry down. At Corpus it seemed that the oil didn't move but kind of dissipated. I'd never experienced anything like that. My suggestion is to being stuff drilled pin long or maybe resin drilled weak. Keep in mind that if you get the ball outside of about 8 at the range marks ( dark brown boards )you will need something that will recover hard. Be prepared to move every 2-3 frames. At the end of singles, I was able to strike for 3 shots throwing an Arsenal Reactive with the pin over the ring, down five. The ball was in out of box condition. Hope this helps.

John,

I have some video I'll put up here for you when I get a chance.  Basically my breakpoint was the same as Tim's but I had to attack it from a deeper angle.  I also threw a 4 bagger at the end of singles but I was standing in front of the ball return and just wheeling it with my polished Machine, got those vids too.

Oh, there was no outside shot for us while we were there.  My student and friend Merlin Ng who shot well 1935 did that playing deep inside, guess USBC didn't want their 1st Open to have 20-30 300 games (at the rate it was going)...
