Our Easter service was on "Empty Promises"....read on...The cross is empty because Jesus promised to pay the ultimate penalty for our sins, yours and mine. He paid for our sins by being a sacrifice on the cross and was crucified to the death and taken off the cross and put in the tomb. The cross is empty because of his promise and love for us. The tomb is empty , because as he promised, he would defeat the grip of death and give us a hope for eternal life by rising from the dead on Sunday morning. The tomb is empty because He Is alive ! His grave clothes are empty, and were found in the tomb, but His face cloth was not wadded up but instead neatly folded and laid in the tomb. This signifies that He had not only left but gives the promise that He will be returning, and therefore completing the promise that He will return for us. Kinda hard to hear a message like that and not be rekindled just a little....God bless, Al
