The Rule still had a pearl appearance to it regardless if it was classified as a solid or not. This version of Goo looks more solid than what was found on the Rule.

The Rule had a pearl appearance, but it was not a pearl ball. It is an additive used to give that look to it. The same could be said about several balls, including the Animal.
