Rule vs Animal vs Animal Untamed
« on: April 01, 2005, 08:12:53 AM »
I'm torn apart between this 3 balls here now, because the balls I always choose turn out to be a wrong choice for me. I'm currently using a storm Flash Flood (which is for heavy oil, but I seem to be able to make it hook on broken down lanes is it because it is a particle ball?)
Is the Animal reactive or particle?
I have med-high rev & speed, & I usually do sideways roll, but can do forward if I want to
Please tell me what u think is a better choice for heavy oil or the ball that "SURE HOOKS" Thx

oh ok! Flash Flood is 800 grit, no wonder...
*sigh* so BVP Nemesis is bout for me! I can't seem to find the grit of track balls. Can anybody tell me if Rule & Animal Untamed are considered polished or dull?

It really doesn't make a difference, it takes all of 5-10 minutes to change the surface on a ball in a pro shop.

And what I would do is, like they suggested, get a gp2 and if it looks like it is burning up (i.e. not moving a whole lot when you think there is plenty of oil) just bring the surface up in small increments.

flickerooni,

Rule, Untamed and GP2 are all 1500 matte I believe. This is a smooth surface, not very dull, but not polished either.

As stanski points out, your safe bet would be to get a GP2 and give it a try with the OOB finish. If it does not move then odds are that you are getting burnout...and if that is the case adjusting the surface is very easy.
