A guy that bowls in the Wed league I bowl in came up to me to show me a ball (used) he was thinking of buying off of a guy. He said that the guy is a staffer with Storm. He then said that the storm staffer asked what equipment he is currently using, which he replied "Track Havoc, Track Trash". The Storm "Staffer" said "Track?". Why would you want to throw that?", "They are no longer in business because they make "junk"".
Interesting how rumors get started. If this gentleman was really a "staffer" I think he is going about it in the wrong manner. Talking bad about a ball company that you do not like is one thing, but making up lies is a totally different story. Especially coming from someone that is represtenting a ball company. I would expect a much more professional take on things coming from a staff member, and I definately would not expect to hear lies.

I don't know other company staff members, but I know quite a few Track staff members. All of them are excellent and knowledgable bowlers, but more importantly, they're genuine people. Although they may be biased towards Track equipment, they know a lot and they very aware of other company's bowling equipment.

I'd have to agree to some extent. I think it would alright to push a bowler towards a specific company or ball, but if they persist on getting the ball they want, it's only fair to give it to them. Completely shutting out a company from a proshop (from bad experiences with staff members or such) isn't fair. Bowlers shouldn't be penalized for a specific person(s)'s ignorance.

As a side note, when I was working at Excalibur pro Shop in Camelot Lanes in Boardman, Ohio 4-5 years ago, the owner got into a fight (verbal) with the regional Ebonite rep.... wanted to know why we only had a few Ebonite balls on display...truth was we at the time had over 50 Ebonite balls in stock, mainly Maxims and Tornados, but some of the High Perf line as well. The VERY NEXT day, every single Ebonite ball was on its way back to one of our distributors.......
Sometimes it has nothing to do with products, and it has everything to do with COURTESY!

When I am asked about a ball (either in the shop or here) I give my honest opinion. If the ball is not Track, that is fine. First and foremost I am in the pro shop business. What usually happens is someone sees me throwing Track and asks about it. I do as much as I can to stay up to date with every ball on the market (which is nearly impossible these days).
I do not feel that I am as bad as the person that had initially started this rumor, and I am definately not spreading it. I am simply posting this because it was said recently by someone on here that a ball driller told him that Track Balls were "off brand equipment". I want to have an end put to this kind of crap.
