Same length with more backend
« on: February 08, 2009, 07:08:24 PM »
I have the tantrum and love the reaction that i am getting w/ this piece but am having complications when this piece is not able to get down the lane enough around the end 0f the 2nd, start of the 3rd game. A pearl piece is what has been reccommended to me & came to the forum to get any suggestions...Would like to stay with the track legion. Thought about the rising SE or the kinetic pearl, but would like your opinions.

LAyout of the Tantrum:

----O--O------
--------P-----
------------WH
------O-------
---------MB---
Player:
rev dominat
15-16 mph
high tracker
tweener
--------------------
DEFEAT is only MOMENTARY!!!!!!

LONG is the way and HARD is the road to go from amateur to professional!!

It depends.  The Kinetic Pearl is a light medium to dry lane ball for most guys so it may be what you're looking for at the end of the set.  The SE is pretty much the sh*t from what I have seen but it's a pretty darn strong pearl.

Carl & I have discussing the same topic the past few weeks - drilling a KPearl for light or lesser conditions. Initial conclusion is a high (4"+ above midline)long pin (5.5"+) above mid/bridge. On the other hand, my new SE will be my heavy oil ball @ 2000A with a 3.75" drilling next to ring. Both are in the works so I cannot give you any results at the present time.

If you can't get the tantrum down the lane with pin down why would you contemplate going to a stronger ball??? you would have to drill it a lot weaker then.. The se is way to much ball for what you need and the K pearl is more than the tantrum but you can make it work.. You may be just as good drilling another tantrum pin up and go to a longer pin to pap distance.

That's pretty much the same thing I was thinking.  For a KP to work on those conditons, I was have to assume something with a neg MB layout in order for it to work.

Right and that will make it rolly.. I think  he should drill another tantrum pin up above middle or the bridge... just my opinion though

I'd just get another Tantrum and drill in either pin up over the bridge and stack everything, or even shift the pin over your ring finger and stch the CG and MB.

I can only base that off of what I saw the Kinetic do with that layout.  It was calm for me.  Too bad it just looked stupid after the plugs.  It's collecting dust somewhere now.

My Tantrum, (See pic in profile) is still too much ball  I went 4000 w/magic shine on it and its over under now. The Tantrum is stronger than I thought it would be.

I am thinking a Kinetic Pearl would suit me better as well  Perhaps 4" Pin drilled pin up over the Mid finger 6"  Do not know where the MB should be though
