Second night with the Mean Machine
« on: March 06, 2007, 02:45:37 PM »
Keep in mind my average is 176.  I had a great look all night with the ball.  Last week I had a 610 and this week I improved on that with games of 205-219-225 for a 649 series, my high series all year.    I was flush in the pocket ALL night with the ball.  I really think I only got ONE strike I didn't deserve, and I think there were three others that I DID deserve.  One blower seven, one stone eight, and one ringing ten.  The third game could have been much higher, as I buried it in the pocket, maybe a touch high, and left the aforementioned ringing ten.  I cleaned it up and struck on the next ball for the 225.  The ball is giving me decent length where I'm playing, and it's not overreacting at all.  It's taking a nice, controlled path to the pocket.  If I get it a bit wider, it does snap back a bit more.  So far so good with the MM!

Mr. Lebowski, this is Bill Salnicker with the Southern Cal Bowling League, and I just got a, an informal report, that a member of your team, uh, Walter Sobchak, drew a firearm during league play. If this is true of course, it contravenes a number of the league's by-laws, and article 27 of the league...

Oh, and I should add I won 170 bucks with it in side pots last night.    My goal right now is a 700 series, which I've never had.  The 649 is one of my best ever.

Mean Machine is a great ball. It can handle anything from medium lanes to heavy oil...not a flood however. The combination of weight block and coverstock is one of the best Track has done. I'm having good success with mine, and the Power Machine. Great tandem. Add an Equation and you're set for everything short of dry...and for that I have a Desert Heat. It's too bad but I don't use my Machine very often anymore. And it's a great ball too.

Hmmm...I may have to look into the Power Machine, though I really shouldn't be buying anymore balls.  I'm kind of worried that I wonder if it's the ball really or if I've just made a new leap in my physical game.  Hmmm.

Improving ones game and having the proper ball in your hands for the proper lane conditions all contribute!

The Power Machine won't handle as much oil....it's a very powerful ball with a very angular turn to the pocket. It's great when the Meanie starts to burn up or gets too much movement. I can't recommend it highly enough. It's a great step down from the Mean Machine. And the Equation or Machine is a great fit below the Power Machine....I usually take six bowling balls to league nights...Mean Machine, Power Machine, Machine, Equation, Solution Power Plus Ex or Desert Heat, and my Flaming T spare ball...all in my Track bags. Think I like Track? I really could cut it down to four...just the Meanie, Power, and Equation...but I always want something for dry..just in case. As is...I'm a 194 average bowler and I've had in the past three nights a 591, 597, 598. Just having problems with ten pins...have left 20 of them total the past three league matches and only picked up 14. Working on that. Glad you like the Mean Machine. I'm not surprised. It's just a wonderful bowling ball and it lasts too...cover is really resiliant against scratches. Just keep it clean after every match and it will repay you fully.
