Fellas,

For all those who bowl in a second shift league, what will be in your bag this season?

I don't bowl second shift....but if I did

I would carry the Equation, Inertia......rarely used Xception and the Machine. I can cover most conditions with these balls.

Well, I'm bowling a second shift league in a house I've never bowled league in before. Older synthetics too...

This is what I'll be bringing the first night to see what works and what doesn't:

RoboRule
Mean Machine
Slash
Equation
Solution Power Plus Ex

Plus a Storm Diablo and Brunswick Target Zone for spares...

Im technically bowling a second shift, even though we get fresh oil. Its a late night sport shot league, the time is so the mechanic can strip and oil the lanes for the league after the evening leagues.

Carrying:

Shark
Hawgzilla
Big One
Machine
PBA Inferno (yellow+blue)
Spare Ball

Hey Buck,

Very good question....these days, second shift doesn't always mean dry.  If the group ahead of you was using plastic or balls that drag oil down, the shot can get pretty tough with carrydown and a stronger ball may be needed.  If the group ahead of you was using strong and oil absorbent pieces, then the shot can look extremely dry.  Because of this, I have to carry 3-4 balls that will cover from good carrydown to dry heads with carrydown.  This is what I see....so, I will be taking the following:

Mean Machine
Inertia
Equation (benchmark)
5.0 (redrilling with mb left of thumb to make it go even longer and straighter to allow for more of a down and in shot)

My idea from fresh consitions to really late and scorched lanes from my current arsenal:

Ebonite SR300*
Eraser Particle Pearl
MoRich Sahara
Black Pure Hammer
Target Zone polyester

* The SR 300 is soon to be drilled, there is a 2.000 grit Vicious Attack at hand as an alternative.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm bringing for starters:

Mean Machine
Artillery
Heat Blast
Solution PP EX

I have the Aggressive and Desert Heat on standby, after I get a feel on how the lanes are.

I just found out that the house where my Monday league bowls (synthetic) has been flooding the lanes last week. My Thursday league (wood) will have dry lanes. Both are second shift.

What do you guys think of this?

Monday:
Mean Machine
Artillery
Heat Blast
Solution

Thursday:
Angular
Heat Blast
Solution
Desert Heat

Luckily all 3 leagues I bowl in are not 2nd shift and they get fresh oil right before the league starts.  Anyways regardless of what shift league I am bowling in I bring the following equipment:

Heavy: GP2
Med-Heavy: Delta One
Medium: Slash
Med-light: Heat
Light: Dessert Heat
Spares: Boxing Glove

I know it may sound silly taking 6 balls with me to league.  But the way I feel about it is bowling balls are like condoms.  I would rather have one and not need it instead of need it and not have one.

Arsenal includes:
Rule GP2, Rule Delta 1, Slash, Heat, Desert Heat, Boxing Glove

HEY FASTTRACKERS!

This is my set arsenal as of right now!

MEAN MACHINE
MACHINE
EQUATION
FLAMING T
(It feels great only having to bring my 4-Ball InLine to leagues. )

These are sitting in the floor of my living room right now!

ROBO RULE
X-CEPTION 5.0
SOLUTION POWER PLUS EX
HEAT BLAST
DESERT HEAT

Tuesday nights are 5-man teams and I originally thought the oil would dry up rather quickly and the transistion would set in before the 1st frame of the 1st game because of all the practice all 10 bowlers on a pair would throw; however, that hasn't been the case as I've used the Equation all night on Tuesday's so far. Wednesday is second shift and they re-oil for us because its the Scratch League. I do notice the Equation snapping harder on Wednesday nights because most of us play the same line plus I end up having to move in deeper with the Equation. The Equation is the definitely the one for me right now! God Bless You All and have a great week!
