Sheer Havoc
« on: November 20, 2004, 07:06:01 AM »
Is it just me or is this another gem of a ball that is yet another sleeper??

There isnt much talk about it on here and in my opinion, it is easily one of the better Track balls I have thrown recently. Of course, everything that I throw is good because its all Track, but I mean, the Sheer is a great ball.

Why wasnt there more talk about it??

Personally I love the Sheer Havoc.  Mine's drilled label and scuffed to 600, the reaction is absolutely phenomenal, so smooth and predictable!  I've only seen about one or two others in my area (though alot of people, when seeing me throw it, have said "i've been thinking about getting that ball" to which my reply is "stop thinking, just get one!")  Not entirely sure why this is, I don't think it was released at a bad time (it was along with the Untamed if I'm not mistaken, which is doing rather well.

Rock,

I think the lack of talk of the Sheer Havoc comes from the release date. It was released in late spring...early summer, and most of the ball talk takes off in August/Sept because leagues will be kicking off then.

Sheer Havoc is a great ball at the price point!!!

I have seen it and think it is one of the prettiest balls I've ever seen.

I also think it is a dud!  I saw one of our best bowlers a nationally known megaroller big casher try to force it for several nights on a long thin oil pattern.  It could not generate enough angle.  Of course this particular house hates pearl particles for some reason rejecting almost of all of them from the Depth charge to Eraser Particle pearl to the Freak out!  For some reaseon an EMB XF can hit here! He had been killing this shot with a Crunch Time!  I kill on left with a Crunch!

I then saw it ona wood surface tourney where the righties had a mediocre shot without much backend.  It suffered here by comparison.

If you live in an area where pearl particles are a winner that might change everything.  There is a center about 30 minutes from here where my Eraser Pearl Particle was awesome and yet it could never work here at my home house.

Pearl particle wasteland!

PS pretty ball!
