2 totally different balls.

The Threat (even though particle) behaves much like a reactive. For me it was incredibly skid flip. Very good ball on med/light conditions. A bowler with slower speeds might be able to step it up med or med/heavy....but very doubtful. It is very strong at the pins.

The Sheer Havoc reacts sooner and more stable at the breakpoint. Everything about the Sheer Havoc is control in my opinion. It works well on wet/dry conditions. For most it would be a first ball out of the bag kind of ball. Tremendous at reading lane conditions.

I hope this helps...if you have any particular questions feel free to message me.

and goodluck

Hey Urethane,

My comparison may not be very helpful because I drilled my Threat pretty mild and it does exactly that.  I get quite a bit of length out of it for a particle ball and some backend.

On the other hand, my Sheer (like Ex said) is my benchmark ball.  It is much stronger for me in oil compared to my Threat, about 5-6 boards.  I actually had to drill out some side weight from my Sheer because I was getting too much backend out of it and now it fits real well for most THS.  Hope this helps some...

Can I throw the Triple Threat into the equation?  I had a chance to roll one a few weeks back and it just didn't impress me.  It didn't seem to pick up much earlier than the Threat.

Perhaps a better comparison would be to a Heat 2 solid or Heat 2 Pearl. Thanks for your input.

Hey Urethane,

Hard to say without knowing the layout of the Triple but mine had a real long pin and at the time I used it, my Triple also gave me more length then expected.

The old Heat 2/Heat2 pearl were pretty skid/flippy from what I can remember, that's why the Sheer was a nice combo having lite particle added to the design.
Here it is, FWIW....
