Title: Slash= Crunch Time What Gives?

Looks like same core same cover and same Rg and Diff.  I might be mistaken but please Track Guru's correct me if I am wrong here.  Only thing I see different is track.com does say slash is power plus coverstock but 123bowl.com says power plus ex which is whats on the crunchtime.  I know the slash is sanded.  So if different they must be very close, is the crunch time pearl?

I think you are looking at Slash= Triton Elite solid!!

PPS I have never thrown one but can it really be better than the Crunch!?

I think LuckyLefty hit it right on in saying it is the Triton Elite Solid.

Power Plus EX is on the CrunchTime and now the Slash. WHat the Slash is going to give you is more hook throughout the lane. It is solid reactive, where the CrunchTime is a blended solid/pearl. If you were throwing each of these with identical layouts and the factory finish on each you would see this: The Slash would pick up its roll sooner and be better suited to be used on medium heavy kind of lane conditions....where the CrunchTime get down the lane more and has a strong move to the pocket, and would be better suited for the medium lane conditions.

I can say this with all honesty....Del does not allow a ball to reach the market unless there is a purpose to it. Throughout Track's entire lineup you do not get much overlap. Every piece of equipment reacts differently than another.

I have not thrown the Slash....or even seen it thrown yet, but what I said above is what usually comes from a ball that is solid vs a pearl or pearl/solid blend.

  There is no bigger fan of the CrunchTime than I am, I see no difference in the 2 balls, with the exceotion of the Slash having a sanded finish from the factory.

  Am I missing something?

You are only missing the fact that one is a dull solid and the other is a polished pearl. This would be the equivalent to the original Triton Elite Solid and the Triton Elite Pearl in the mid-late 90's.

I think there will be one, almost minor difference between the CrunchTime and the Elite Pearl: the CT is a solid/pearl combination, while the Elite Pearl was all pearl. This seems to make the CT have a slightly more even overall ball reaction than the EP. Otherwise, the analogy seems very comparable.

If this does "hold water", the Elite solid was one of the strongest oilers, earliest rolling balls of its day. We'll see how the Slash winds up relating to this.

 I just can't fathom the difference in these 2 balls, both have a friction rating of 6. one is a solid/pearl combo.the other is a solid. one has a high polish polish finish the other is is a sanded finish. how can that be?
