Drilling my Desert and Blue...
« on: July 11, 2005, 01:36:54 AM »
Ok, so I received my Desert and Blue Heat last Thursday. I must say, these are two of the nicest looking balls I have ever seen!! I love how the Desert almost seems like its glowing.

In any case, I am going to try to drill them tonight. The Desert will be drilled pin over bridge cg in palm. That drill should give me length and a controlled backend. It should allow me to square up and play the track area with no problems. The Blue is going to be pin under ring, cg in palm. Again, more of a control drill, but the Blue will start up sooner with the pin placement. Hopefully this will fit right below my 5.0. That ball comes in today!!

In addition to that, I have a Heat coming tomorrow. Not sure on the drill. I want that one weaker than my Xception but stronger than the Desert.

I also have another Desert and Blue coming on Wednesday!! I am going to experiment with these or drill them accordingly if the other ones don't give me the look I want. Example being if the first Blue isn't strong enough, then I will drill the second one stronger.

I cant wait to throw these balls!!

LOL...

The sad thing is the Arsenal Reactive has really peaked my interest as well. I am a little interested in the Rule Delta 1, but have to see where that fits into the mix.

Ok, got to drill both last night. Here's what I wound up with.

Desert Heat - Pin below bridge, cg stacked below in palm, no weight hole. This ball does exactly what I wanted. The track area up 2nd arrow was burned up so I pulled out the Desert and was able to play right up 10. The ball went straight then arched nicely in the backend.

Blue Heat - Pin below and right of ring, cg in palm, no weight hole. This ball is crazy strong!! I was trying to find enough oil to get it down the lane but it literally started to move about 3 feet past the arrows. It starts up real early and arched very strongly on the backend.

Those are just preliminary reactions. I will post reviews once I get more games on both balls.
