Title: Slash -vs- 5.0
Post by: Tweener92 on September 24, 2005, 01:03:28 AM
This may be a stupid question but has anyone done a side by side on these two gems. I'm am trying to deside if I am going to pick a Slash up or not.  Will looking at the "stats" on both ball they both are listed as hanlding medium oil well. I want to hear from the real people that throw the equipment so all input is welcome.

Thanks,

Tim

Tim,

The 5.0 is going to hook more overall than the Slash, but it is going to do most of it late (on the backends).

When I throw my SLash and my 5.0 side by side I am usually standing a good 7-10 boards deeper with the 5.0 than the Slash. I feel they go very well together because they give such a different look on the lane. The Slash is smooth throughout the entire lane where the 5.0 is a backend monster.

Goodluck,

Hey Tim,

These 2 balls have almost opposite reaction properties for me.  In med oil, my Slash rolled pretty quick and has a nice smooth backend reaction while the 5.0 skids downlane easier with a very sharp and angular movement.  The Slash being duller OOB tends to read the oil line a little better, my 5.0 is much shinier in comparison.  Need anything else?
