Title: Solution PPex
Post by: Dabalos on October 26, 2005, 12:47:53 AM
I took a look at my ball and around my thumb slub i can see some cracking starting.  I have only thrown this ball a total of about 5 games.  Is this normal?  Will I be able to get this ball replaced?

Is it the thumb slug itself, or is it the ball?

Since it is the ball, Talk to the pro shop you got it from (or the place you purchased from). And ask them to replace under the warranty.. I know it says if theres grips/slug in it they wont replace it, but track is fairly good about this stuff..

Take it back to your pro shop and see if he'll stand behind his work. The thumbhole for the slug may have been drilled too quickly which can create too much heat and make the material brittle.

Using to much Super Glue to cement in slugs will cause brittleness in coverstock.  I've seen this happen to much.  Lil dab we'll do....some go nuts with use of the stuff.

I've got a Vis. Midnight Scorcher w/ same problem and have never fixed it just keep using it not a high usage ball though.  Never went abck to that pro shop either.

Generally, the way returns happen is this way: Take it to your shop-shop gives it back to the distributor they purchased it from, distributor sends it back to manufacturer. Once the distributor is given credit, the distributor will credit the shop, and then the shop will credit you.

Sounds like either the thumb hole was drilled too quickly and heated the ball up too much or an excessive amount of super glue was used.

Dabalos,

I have close to 40 games on my Solution PP EX and I have no cranking at all. I agree that it was probably drilled to quickly or the bit was dull.

Track deals primarily with distributors like Clint mentions. Call the pro shop and see if the operator can work something out for you.
